So, the mastering engineer one took a while, but it turns out most people don’t upload the mastering credit. So, I had to upload a few manually. The songwriter one is a bit of a surprise, as I don’t do that much songwriting. Most songwriters do sessions for free, though as I work out of a larger professional studio, it usually means I have to turn down paid work to do a free session. Though if anyone wants to pay for the studio time , I am happy to song writing sessions. I play quite a few other instruments too though don’t ever ask for credits (so page 2 is not quite so impressive :) . Anyway, get in touch for your one stop, high end music help ✌️

Apparently ,, (according to .ai ) I didn’t really know what I wanted to do after school. I had a place at Camberwell collage of arts, though the band I was in got signed to a label called Mo’wax. We travelled the world playing music all over, and just got swept up in this art form I fell in love with. There has been ups and downs as music is not always an easy place. Though I don’t regret a day of it. I get to do what I love every day and these days just work with good people and music that I like. Though it could have been any art form really, I just happened to fall into this one. I really hope that music is a sustainable carrier choice for the next generation of music makers. The new streaming models has really devalued music from when I started. The fact that Spotify had started to sponsor Barcelona football club blows my mind . That struggling musicians getting paid almost nothing per stream are now paying the wages of some of the richest footballers in the planet . 🤦🏻

A couple of long term rooms lets at the studio. This is the first one. It measures approx 4m x2.2m. It has a small booth and natural light, based down in Peckham next to the Bussey building. £500+vat per month all bills included. There is also a larger room measuring 4m x 5m approx £1000+vat per month. I will post some pictures of that one later. Get in touch for more details.

So good to see ‘s album out to the world today and see them play it live last night. I’m also loving the vinyl which comes with these booklets. It gives a great value to the music to hold something physical in your hands and read though notes and details about the making of it . Especially when music these days has become so devalued through streaming . It’s a beautiful thing !

Our Story

123 Studios, one of South London's top recording studios, has been set up by Producer/Engineer Brett Shaw (Florence and the Machine, Foals, Lady Gaga, Daughter, Clean Bandit), next to Peckham's Bussey Building in one of London's most exciting new creative developments.

123 Studios is one of South London's finest recording facilities. Featuring an astoundingly accurate purpose-built natural light control room that houses a vintage SSL E series console and ATC scm50asl monitors. Next to the large live room, with high ceilings and booths, ideal for full band tracking.

Utilizing both vintage and modern gear, the studio can record fully analogue to 24 track tape, digital or a combination of the two.

Production, recording, mixing, and mastering are all available.
