Indiana sets October 10th warrant of death date for Roy Lee Ward.

The Indiana Supreme Court on Monday tentatively scheduled an Oct. 10 ex*****on date for death row inmate Roy Lee Ward, but acknowledged they “lack the parties’ insight into … the next steps in the judicial and executive branch process that are specific to Ward if an ex*****on date is set.”

In a five-page order, the high court justices said they were fulfilling an “administrative task” in setting the tentative date, but quoted a request from Ward’s defense counsel to delay the case due to “serious questions and concerns about whether the State of Indiana can carry out his ex*****on in a constitutionally permissible manner.”

In recent cases, the court has not used the term tentative in setting a date.

The last ex*****on was on the 18th December 2024 of Joseph Corcoran in Indiana!!!!!

Botched ex*****on by the state ⬇️

William Vandiver (1985): Vandiver's ex*****on by electrocution involved multiple jolts of electricity and took 17 minutes. His attorney described the ex*****on as "outrageous

Tommie Smith (1996): Smith's ex*****on by lethal injection was also reported to be prolonged

Benjamin Ritchie (2025): Concerns were raised about the ex*****on of Benjamin Ritchie, who was convicted of killing a police officer, after reports of unusual movements after the injection of pentobarbital. Witnesses for the defense reported that Ritchie made "violent" movements, lifting his head and shoulders, while officials maintain the ex*****on was carried out according to protocol.
