Remembering one of Britain's most popular film stars, Margaret Lockwood CBE, who was born on this day in 1916♥️
She went on to become a BAFTA nominated actress, as well as Britain’s number one box office star during the war years. Her iconic films gained her legions of fans who gave her the nickname “Queen of the Screen”.
Lockwood's many great films include 'Doctor Syn' (1937), 'The Lady Vanishes' (1938), 'A Girl Must Live' (1939), 'Night Train to Munich' (1940), 'Alibi' (1942), 'The Man in Grey' (1943), 'Give Us the Moon' (1944), 'The Wicked Lady' (1945), 'Bedelia' (1946), 'Jassy' (1947), 'Trent's Last Case' (1952), 'Trouble in the Glen' (1954), 'Cast a Dark Shadow' (1955) and 'The Slipper and the Rose' (1976).
On television she was also amazing in an episode of 'The Human Jungle' called 'Solo Performance' with Herbert Lom and in the iconic series 'Justice' (1971–74) as Harriet Peterson, a barrister in the North of England.
