In 2001, actress Sharon Stone had a stroke. She has spoken openly about the physical effects of the stroke, and also the knock on effect it had on her career. After the stroke, she said she no longer received job offers and felt blacklisted by the industry. Over the years, Stone has worked alongside the World Health Organisation and the United Nations to ensure that what happened to her doesn’t happen to other people.

During an interview on The View, actress Jameela Jamil spoke openly about her abortion and the extremely harmful consequences of the United States erosion of the right to access them in many states.

She stressed how there is a lot of misinformation around abortion, particularly around people’s motivation for having one. Everyone’s reason for having an abortion is different, and in any case banning abortion is an attack on the freedom of self-determination, with life-threatening consequences.
