🚱 Hosepipe ban now in force - Is your London borough affected?

The current hosepipe ban applies to Affinity Water customers in parts of north and west London, including the boroughs of:

📍 Barnet
📍 Brent
📍 Ealing
📍 Harrow
📍 Hillingdon

If you live in these areas and are supplied by Affinity Water, you must not use a hosepipe for everyday tasks such as:
💧 Watering gardens or lawns
🚗 Washing your car
🏊 Filling paddling pools or swimming pools
🧹 Cleaning patios, paths or driveways
🪟 Washing windows or outside walls

You can still:
✅ Water plants with a watering can
✅ Wash your car using a bucket and sponge

Most other London boroughs are supplied by Thames Water, where there is currently no official hosepipe ban. However, customers are being asked to use water wisely during the hot weather to help protect supplies.

💦 Check which water company supplies your home if you’re unsure whether the restrictions apply to you.

There is something about summer in London that makes time slow down. The rooftops glow with the last light of the day, the city softens into gold and even the busiest streets seem to breathe a little easier. As the sun slips behind the skyline, St Paul’s stands quietly against the evening sky - a reminder that some views never lose their magic. Moments like these feel less like photographs and more like pages from a story you’ll want to read again and again..

This summer, Kensington Gardens becomes home to Pénétrable BBL Jaune by Venezuelan artist Jesús Rafael Soto (1923–2005), a pioneering figure in kinetic art.

Made from thousands of suspended yellow PVC tubes, this immersive installation changes as you move around and through it. What first appears as a shimmering wall of colour transforms into a playful environment where visitors become part of the artwork itself.

Soto believed that art should be experienced, not just observed. Every step, touch and movement brings a new perspective - making each visit unique.

📍 Serpentine South Gallery, Kensington Gardens, London W2 3XA
📅 until 25 October 2026
🎟️ Free entry

🕒 Opening hours:
Mon 12–6pm
Tue–Fri 10am–6pm
Sat–Sun 10am–7pm

A fascinating chance to walk through one of Soto’s iconic immersive creations and experience the connection between art, space and movement 💛
