The Jobseeker’s Guide to the Galaxy!

This podcast is for, with, and about people who’ve experienced job loss or are coming back from a career break, navigating today’s challenging job market. 
In each episode, I’ll be speaking to people who’ve been there—sharing their stories, lessons learned, and strategies for moving forward. 

I’ll mix in talking to hiring managers and recruiters, to get their view of the job market and how they think candidates can help themselves in the job search. 

In this episode I am very happy to be talking to my friend Nina Hersson (tag).
Nina has had a long break from full-time employment. But she wasn’t sitting still twiddling her thumbs. 
She raised her son, she started an agency for children’s clothes during her maternity leave because taking care of a baby just wasn’t enough, haha! And then some. Now she has come back through something new to me - Re-launch program with Cap Gemini. Honestly it sounds amazing and I’m sure more places have the same or similar programs to support people who have been out of employment for a while. 
She also shares her experience and what helped her through.

End of year is closing in and most organisations are starting to slow down.
As is the recruitment… People like me still on the look for work can become quite stressed and feel discouraged.

Check in on your mate or former colleague if you know they’re still looking for a job.

Invite them over for a hot drink and a chat. Maybe not to chat about work but about other things that can be rays of light in the darkness that joblessness can present.

It was for people like myself, affected by redundancy, that I started The Jobseekers Guide to the Galaxy.
It is a podcast for, with and about people experiencing job loss or coming back from a career break trying to navigate this crazy job market of today.

In each episode I interview a person sharing their personal story as well as actionable tips for jobseekers. I speak to fellow jobseekers who are going through it, have gone through and out on the other side, hiring managers, recruiters & coaches.

This weeks episode is a true uplifter as me & John Ajah talk a lot about how to maintain your wellbeing whilst looking for a job, counting your blessings, finding community & the gift of patience. It’s a real feel good episode to listen to!
