🍽️ THE JOURNEY OF FOOD TO THE CELL — THE STOMACH: THE FACTORY
We continue the series. In the first post, we saw how digestion begins in the mouth. Now we go further down — to the stomach. This is where things get serious.
🔥 THE STOMACH — NOT JUST A “FOOD BAG”
Most people imagine the stomach as a place where food simply “soaks” and waits to move further down.
The reality is very different.
The stomach is a highly precise chemical factory. It produces a powerful acid — strong enough to destroy bacteria and viruses that enter with food. This same acid breaks down proteins and activates enzymes, without which digestion simply cannot happen.
⚠️ WHAT HAPPENS IF THE STOMACH DOESN’T WORK PROPERLY
Do you take Rennie, Omeprazole, or similar medications for acid reflux?
Millions of people take them every day — after meals, before bed, when they feel burning in the chest. Rennie, Omeprazole, Pantoprazole, Nexium — familiar names.
But here’s what the leaflet doesn’t tell you: these medications reduce or completely stop the production of stomach acid. The symptom disappears — but along with it, the stomach loses its ability to digest proteins, destroy pathogens, and absorb iron, magnesium, and vitamin B12.
People take them for years. They feel better. But their body slowly stops absorbing what it needs.
Do you have Helicobacter pylori?
This bacterium is found in the stomachs of more than half the world’s population. Many don’t even know it. It lives in the stomach lining and can cause inflammation, ulcers, and chronic digestive issues. If not addressed — no medication will help long term.
Do you eat under stress or in a hurry?
When stressed, the body switches into survival mode. Digestion is the last priority. Acid production decreases, enzymes slow down, and food ferments instead of being properly digested. That’s why so many people experience bloating, gas, and heaviness after eating — not because of the food, but because of the state they were in while eating.
🌿 VERTERA GEL — RESTORES, NOT SUPPRESSES
Vertera Gel works in a completely different way from these medications.
It does not stop acid production. It does not silence the symptom.
The bioactive substances from laminaria form a protective layer over the stomach lining — like a natural bandage on a damaged area. Inflammation decreases. The lining begins to heal. The stomach can function the way it was designed to.
It doesn’t suppress. It restores.
In the next post, we reach the most critical part of the entire chain — the small intestine. That’s where 90% of nutrients are absorbed. And that’s where the most things can go wrong.
