This unusual watch for Napoleon’s mother has no numbers, it belongs to a type called “montres à tact” or discrete watches. The clever design allows the time to be told by touch alone, feeling the four diamonds on the hour and the quarters, and the pearls that mark the remaining divisions of the twelve hours. The raised arrow, also in diamonds, contrasts with the smooth surrounding enamel, taking the place of watch hands. It was made for Maria Letizia Bonaparte, Napoleon’s mother, who lost her sight as she aged.

The first time I saw Luz Camino’s work, I reacted purely on instinct.
The second time, with Irina’s explanation, that instinct finally got language.

Art doesn’t always scream its value.
For some people, it’s obvious at first sight.
For others, it needs to be read — shown, explained, unfolded.

That’s what I want to do with you:
learn to see deeper.

Arina POUZOULLIC is the founder of The Second Petal, Paris — and speaking with her was one of those conversations that stays with you. It was so rich, so layered, that putting it into one reel felt impossible. So we begin with fragments.

What I admire in Arina is her approach to galleries and to designers: she genuinely values art, and she works with artists in a way that elevates them — giving them the right context and the right audience.
She shows at PAD Paris and PAD London, and she brings her artists with her. She wants them present, speaking, explaining their work. That alone creates enormous value, because even trained eyes miss things.

But when you pause and hear the artist speak, suddenly everything becomes clear — the intention, the detail, the soul of the piece. You see what you didn’t see five minutes ago.

So here is the first fragment of our conversation.
More with Arina is coming.

I entered the jewellery world quite by chance, but it welcomed me warmly. My journey started through social media, as I travelled extensively to attend exhibitions and meet renowned designers — I think the only one I haven’t met yet is JAR.
For a while, my Instagram looked like jewellery modelling, but in truth, I was curating and studying some of the most extraordinary pieces. What has always mattered most to me is originality.

Over the past eleven years, I’ve devoted myself to studying jewellery, art, and design. I’ve seen the great masterpieces in person — from the Al Thani Collection to Art Nouveau jewels and JAR creations at auctions. I’ve followed how the value of different artists evolves and why.

Now, my focus in the jewellery world is on helping designers identify their DNA and create distinctive pieces that reflect it — guiding them toward originality and creative clarity.
