Tal Pai, Tal Filho: Vozes da Floresta Viva 🍃

Ninawa Pai da Mata, pajé and chief of the Huni Kuin people of Acre, Brazil, is a carrier of ancient forest wisdom - guardian of sacred medicines, healing chants, and spiritual tradition.

At his side walk his sons, Txaná Shanē and Txaná Yube - singers and healers who follow in their father’s footsteps with reverence and strength.

Together, father and sons move as one prayer, one drumbeat - seeds of the past flowering in the present, reminding the world that the forest is alive, and its song is sacred.

What does it mean to meet ourselves as both the solid Oak Tree AND the Wildflowers that bloom at his base? The oak stands rooted in strength, his branches settled in patience, his trunk - a pillar of quiet knowing. He is presence. Anchor. Protector. And yet, nestled beneath his shade of safety, violets, primroses, and wood anemones blossom. Their beauty does not weaken him - it inspires him. Their colour, their fragrance, their dance of divinity creates balance - an inner equilibrium. For the masculine and feminine are not adversaries within us, they are allies that together create wholeness. One shapes the ground. The other sanctifies it 🌳 🌸

As the earth stirs beneath us, Imbolc marks the halfway point between winter and spring—a sacred threshold where the first whispers of renewal begin to emerge. The seeds we’ve been tending in the darkness of our inner worlds are preparing to break through, stretching toward the light.

This time of year invites us to honor the flame within—our creative fire, our dreams taking form, our visions awaiting birth. It is a time of purification, of trusting the unseen, of honoring the slow emergence of what’s to come.

At Soulfocus Media, we see this as a reflection of the creative process itself. The stories we are called to tell, the images waiting to be captured, the essence we long to express—all begin as a quiet ember before they ignite into something powerful.

Their stories are etched into the bark of ancient forests, alive in the songs of birds, and woven into the fibers of their vibrant woven baskets. It’s time to remember the strength in simplicity, the beauty in connection, to walk barefoot on sacred soil, heartbeat to heartbeat with Mother Earth. The Embera remind us that we are all threads and in co-cretion with this gift of life.
