🏆 BOOK OF THE MONTH: From faded album to modern-day photo book

Some of our best journeys languish in old-fashioned holiday albums - but they don’t have to stay there.

This month's winning creator, Dallas Stefanovich turned a worn 2013 travel album into a professionally-printed travel photo book - and it became August’s Book of the Month Winner.

The original prints from her European trip lived in a traditional binder: quick ‘point and shoot’ moments from an old Canon EOS 60D camera she’d long since disposed of.

In 2026, she brought those memories back to life – refining each image and choosing a Standard Landscape Lustre Photographic Hardcover with lay‑flat pages that let the story unfold beautifully.

As Dallas told us: ‘My main intention was simply to bring my photos together in an easily accessible format for others to enjoy and look through.

Our Photo of the Month winner for the theme ‘Street Photography’ was the image from Carl Dulling of a monkey that he took on a recent three-week holiday that included a visit to India’s capital city.

We thought it was a great example of capturing an unexpected street scene in the middle of a busy city.

‘We were walking back to our hotel in crowded central New Delhi and were amazed to see several large monkeys casually walking in the street, eating leftovers or drinking from used cartons.

Then I spotted one monkey on a motorbike - only a few feet away from a man reading his newspaper. It really looked like he was asking the monkey “Going anywhere (or been anywhere) nice today?” I had to hurriedly take the photo before the monkey was disturbed.’

Family photographer Emma Challinor takes a wonderfully natural approach to photographing children – capturing them in the moment and looking for the stories behind the pictures, rather than chasing the ‘perfect’ posed shot.
