There’s a lot you can learn about a man from the way he talks about success.
But perhaps you learn even more from the way he talks about the moments when life didn’t go his way.
That’s what stood out from episode 35 of The Dad Project podcast with Atul Kochhar.
Of course, there was plenty of discussion about the Michelin stars, the restaurants and an incredible career.
But behind all of that was a far more interesting story.
The people who shaped him. The difficult moments that tested him. The lessons he took from experiencing the opposite of the kind of leadership he wanted to offer.
There was also the story of losing what he had spent years building, and finding the strength to build again.
Atul spoke openly about forgiveness, happiness, masculinity, pride and what success really means when everything else is stripped away.
What came through was someone who has achieved a great deal, but remains deeply interested in the kind of human being he is rather than simply the things he has achieved.
And perhaps that’s one of the most interesting lessons from his story.
Episode 35 of the podcast is OUT NOW on all podcast platforms.
