Big day at UK Construction Week!

Last Friday, I attended the DDG Network Group & DDG Academy anniversary event. It was great not only catching up with my podcast co-host Slaheoldine Thomas but also my client and others I’ve come to know in the group.

We had a blast! From a engineer who build sets for movies (currently working on Mission Impossible), architect, business development agent, scaffolding business owner to a person who sells in Dubai; I enjoyed the varied professionals.

What was interesting about the real estate person in Dubai was that they use VR to show people the property, in which they get to experience the living via augmented reality.

Looks like I’ll be up in London at least once a month for the next few months attending events.

Doing 10 hours on a construction site in a fast high demand environment, whilst running a business and going to college are not for the fainted. I’m 45 years old and don’t look it but stress is a silent killer.

Our Founder CEO is the Volunteer of the Year Award Winner for . 2025 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR WINNER community work as a STEM Ambassador was sponsored and presented by !

Over the years, she has had the privilege of reaching thousands of students across Medway, Kent, and London boroughs—sparking curiosity, breaking down barriers, and opening up conversations about the power of STEM.

As a construction student and a contractor on the site, she is very proud to make a difference in Medway.

At the BTA (Black Tech Achievement) Awards as an “Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist” on Friday evening!

Unfortunately, I didn’t win 🏆 but just me being in the room with so much black excellence in the industry was enough for me. Companies such as Amazon, Salesforce, and HSBC were in the room, amongst others from organisations like Microsoft, Accenture, PlayStation, Lloyds, Goldman Sachs, BAE and more to celebrate categories such as AI Champion, App of the Year, BTA Gaming, Developer of the Year, Diversity Champion, Innovation Champion, Rising Star, etc.

Besides all the excellence in the building, one thing that I took from the event was inspiration. The goal is to do more, try harder and put myself forward next year. I am 🙏🏾blessed to even be a finalist! The experience was also amazing.

A big well done to my team at Pure Elements Consultancy Ltd and Ensite Builder ‼️

Now, I looking forward to the Pride in Medway Award Ceremony in April where I am another finalist for the work that I do in the community. STEM Ambassadors

I am pleased to say that my non-fictional book about women who have made an impact on the industry has been submitted for publication.

I am personally proud of this book as I went back in history to women today who have made their mark all over the world.

We attended Northfleet School for Girls and like always I had an amazing experience!

Some of my highlights were:

✅ Some of the students remember me from last year. One even asked if I would come next year. Love the fact that I can make such impressions. Of course, I’ll be there next year!

✅ Last year, not too many girls would consider a career in the built environment. This year, so many were interested.

✅ The girls were very interested in what I had to say. They wrote the information down as I spoke. For example, I advised one to look at Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) website. Another listened as I explained the difference between and .

✅ I had some amazing questions today like, should I do or if I want to build apps, or what sparked you into doing websites and what was your starting point? Also, do you like what you do and what do you like best about it? If I want to go into , what A-levels should I do?

I love what I do!
