Published back in March 2019, this fantastic space opera can stand with the best of the genre. But what Temi Oh does best is put emphasis on the characters rather than overloading the reader with technological spectacle. Teenage characters can sometimes be the hardest characters to write, as many writers use common tropes to seed their younger characters. But the younger graduates of the books Dalton Space Academy have rich & complex psyches. Nyim salutes & recommends Temi Oh's

Love... the legend Octavia E. Butler's
Lilith’s Brood



Born on the 22nd of June, the trailblazing author Octavia E. Butler produced many incredible fables, but the aforementioned title has to be amongst her greatest, if not her greatest work. Thought-provoking, evocative, beautifully layered, and ahead of its time are just a few of the many superlatives that could describe Lilith’s Brood. Of the three tales that make up this historic saga, Dawn was our favourite. It sets the pace, emotion, and world builds in a profoundly evocative way.

We here at Nyim Creatives could not recommend this book series enough to our community. We salute the genius that is Octavia E. Butlter.
