Devotion: Walk with the Holy Spirit

Galatians 5:25 "If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit."

To live with someone is different from walking with them. The Holy Spirit dwells in us. However to walk by the Spirit means being led by Him on every step that you take in life.

Don't live your life without the involvement of the Holy Spirit. Learn to yield to His counsel and direction. Refuse to be dictated by the flesh.

Galatians 5:16 "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh."

The Human flesh desires for pleasures. The flesh craves for what gives gratification to the human body. This is the reason why being led by the flesh will mislead you. You cannot please God by being led by the flesh.

Roman 8:8 "And those who are controlled by the flesh cannot please God."

When you walk with the Spirit of God you please God. Enoch pleased God because He walked with Him.Hebrew 11:5 "By faith, Enoch was taken away, so that he would not see death, “and he was not found, because God took him away.” For before he was taken he was attested as having pleased God."

When you listen to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, you will always walk in the perfect will of God. You will please God and you will win always.

Roman 8:5-6 "For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace."

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), the country’s anti-graft agency, has announced that it will no longer proceed with the case against former Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Kainja.

Kainja was accused of receiving a bribe from British businessman Zuneth Sattar in exchange for facilitating a contract for Sattar’s company to supply food items to the Malawi Police Service.

“The decision to discontinue the case follows a court ruling which stated that certain evidence obtained from the United Kingdom, on which the Bureau relied, cannot be used in Malawian courts,” said ACB spokesperson Jacqueline Ngongonda.

Ngongonda, however, clarified that the discontinuation of the case does not mean it has been permanently closed, as the law allows the Bureau to reopen it within six months.

Kainja was arrested in June 2023.

Mulhako wa Alhomwe, a prominent cultural organization in Malawi, has denied claims that it wants to influence appointments in President Arthur Peter Mutharika's government. The organization says a statement circulating with these claims is fake.

The organization's board issued a statement on October 7, 2025, saying Mulhako wa Alhomwe is apolitical and doesn't intend to interfere with government decisions. They warned those spreading the fake statement to stop dragging the organization's name into politics.

Mulhako wa Alhomwe says it's committed to promoting unity, culture, and heritage. They urged Malawians to treat the circulating statement as fake and rely on official communications from the organization.
