Not all ADHD looks like hyperactivity. 🧠

Some kids aren’t bouncing off the walls — they’re staring out the window, retelling the same story, losing their water bottle for the third time this week, or nodding along to instructions their brain never quite caught.

This is inattentive ADHD, and it’s one of the most commonly missed presentations — especially in quiet, dreamy kids who aren’t “disruptive” enough to raise a flag.

Missed doesn’t mean mild. It means unsupported.

Let’s widen the picture of what ADHD can look like. 💛

Rakri has always carried beautiful memories for me the threads, the sweets, the laughter, and the little traditions we grow up with. 🧵🍬
But as a parenting coach, I see something deeper in it now.

Sibling relationships are not built in one celebration. They are shaped in the everyday moments in the disagreements, the apologies, the boundaries, the laughter, and the times children learn how to find their way back to one another. đź’›

Our children do not need a “perfect” sibling bond. They need the emotional skills to communicate, repair, respect each other’s differences, and understand that love does not mean always agreeing.

This is also where we, as parents, have such an important role. We can avoid comparisons, make space for each child to be themselves, model healthy communication, and remind them that both their own feelings and their sibling’s feelings matter. 🌿

For me, that is what Rakri can represent today: not simply a promise of protection, but a reminder of mutual care, connection and the relationship we help our children build over time. 🤝

What do you hope your children learn from their relationship with each other? đź’¬

5 things I want every parent to hear today 🌱

You don’t have to say yes just to avoid a meltdown. Your kid being upset doesn’t mean you got it wrong.

You don’t have to compare your child to their sibling, or to anyone else’s kid. They’re not running that race.

You don’t have to do it all alone. Asking for help is not a failure it’s just being human.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.

And you don’t have to be perfect. None of us are.

Some days this list is easy to remember. Other days you need someone to say it out loud. So which one do you need to hear today?

A family walk can do more than you think. 🌿🤍

Sometimes, all we need is a little time away from the noise walking, exploring, laughing, and simply being together.

Our nervous systems need moments to slow down and reset, and nature gives us the perfect space to do that. No big plans, no pressure to create the “perfect” family day. Just time to connect.

We spent the day at Centre Parcs Woburn, and it was exactly that: a little adventure, a little reset, and lots of connection. ✨

Because sometimes the best family memories are made when we simply put the phones away and walk together.

Somewhere between the school runs, the bills, and the bedtime routines, couples stop being two people in love and become two people running a household 🫣

Nobody tells you that’s how it happens. There’s no single moment where the relationship changes. It’s a thousand small ones conversations about logistics instead of dreams, goodnight kisses traded for one more thing off the to-do list, “we’re fine” said on autopilot because there’s no energy left to check if it’s true.

And here’s the thing worth remembering: children don’t just need a home that runs smoothly. They need to see two people who still choose each other underneath all the noise. That’s the blueprint they’ll carry into their own relationships one day.

So much gets poured into keeping the family afloat — and somewhere along the way, the relationship that built the family gets left to run on empty. But a connected couple has more patience, more presence, more calm to give. Protecting the relationship isn’t selfish. It’s foundational.

If schedules and exhaustion have quietly become the whole relationship, that’s not failure — it’s just what happens when nobody’s tending to it. The good news is, it can be tended to again.

Paris. Just the two of us. Our first trip away since we became parents and it took us 14 years to finally do it. 🤍

Fourteen years of putting the children first. Of "next year." Of telling ourselves there'd be a better time. And honestly? Walking out that door was still one of the hardest things I've done.

The guilt was instant. That familiar voice telling me a "good mum" stays. I checked my phone at the gate. I welled up on the train. And somewhere over the Channel it hit me this wasn't me abandoning my children. This was me protecting the very thing that holds our family together.

Because here's what I always come back to, as a coach and as a mum: our children don't only need us to love them. They need to see what love looks like. A partnership that's nurtured, not left to run on empty. Two people who still choose each other. That's the blueprint they'll carry into their own relationships one day.

We pour and pour into our little ones — and somewhere along the way we forget we're allowed to be filled up too. But a rested, connected parent has more patience, more presence, more calm to give. The trip wasn't time away from my family. It was an investment in it.

So if you've been putting yourself and your relationship at the very bottom of the list, please don't let it take you 14 years too. Looking after your children and looking after yourself were never opposites.

And if the guilt runs deep and you'd like a hand untangling it, my door's always open — link in bio for a free, no-pressure chat.

“Stay connected to my child.” Simple words, but they landed deep. 🤍

One parent shared: “I tried so hard to correct her that I forgot to connect.” Because when parenting feels relentless, most parents go into survival mode without even realizing it.

A reminder to slow down, look up, and really be present — because connection isn’t built in the big moments, it’s built in the small, everyday ones.

Mom of two boys here —and the biggest myth I had to unlearn? That boys aren’t emotional.

They feel everything just as deeply as anyone else big feelings, big meltdowns, big love. The difference is they’re often taught to hide it early. My job as their mom (and as a parenting coach) is to make sure they never have to. Here’s what I’ve learned about raising emotionally healthy boys. 💬
