With less than ten dollars in my pocket, I embarked on a journey to build Liberatum at 17. Expelled from Morocco for being openly q***r aged 21, nights sleeping in the park in London, walking all day in Edinburgh with my suitcase in the rain, eating bread from trash bins in the streets of Paris, so many days of struggle. I never gave up the dream. Looking back, it’s strange really. Where did I find the courage from? The Risk was the attractive. The process was the drive. One should not forget how to dream. I am grateful to Calcutta, to India, for preparing me for the world. No matter your race, religion or beliefs, YOU HAVE A VOICE. And nobody’s more important than YOU. Go out and do it. Visualise it. Manifest it. And build it. They will all come. Speaking of manifesting dreams. I love this song. And I love this record. I once cold emailed William Orbit, the man behind this genius of an album with Madonna. I had grown up listening to it in 1998. Long story short, we ended up collaborating on so many Liberatum ventures, from Siberia to Hong Kong. Have a beautiful Sunday, dreamers. And FREE PALESTINE 🇵🇸 🩵✨ - Pablo Ganguli

𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐎𝐌 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐅𝐀𝐓, 𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐕𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐒

The heart is capable of sacrifice. So is the va**na. The heart is able to forgive and repair. It can change it’s shape to let us in. It can expand to let us out. So can the va**na. It can ache for us and stretch for us, die for us and bleed and bleed us into this difficult, wondrous world. So can the va**na. I was there in the room. I remember.

The cl****is is pure in purpose. It is the only organ in the body designed purely for pleasure.

When you r**e, beat, maim, mutilate, burn, bury, and terrorize women, you destroy the essential life energy on the planet.

It’s a totally ridiculous, completely uns*xy word. If you use it during s*x, trying to be politically correct— “Darling, could you stroke my va**na?”— you kill the act right there. I’m worried about va**nas, what we call them and don’t call them.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐃 𝐖𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄

The reality is life is a single-player game. You’re born alone. You’re going to die alone. All of your interpretations are alone. All your memories are alone. You’re gone in three generations, and nobody cares. Before you showed up, nobody cared. It’s all single player.

Realize that in modern society, the downside risk is not that large. Even personal bankruptcy can wipe the debts clean in good ecosystems. I’m most familiar with Silicon Valley, but generally, people will forgive failures as long as you were honest and made a high-integrity effort. There’s not really that much to fear in terms of failure, and so people should take on a lot more accountability than they do.

Happiness is the state when nothing is missing. When nothing is missing, your mind shuts down and stops running into the past or future to regret something or to plan something.

If I say I’m happy, that means I was sad at some point. If I say he’s attractive, then somebody else is unattractive. Every positive thought even has a seed of a negative thought within it and vice versa, which is why a lot of greatness in life comes out of suffering.

𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖

Once we start to work with Feminine power we begin to see that it is not our minds that are in control of this power – it ebbs and flows with the movements of the planets, the procession of the seasons, the moons and tides, our own internal cycles of menstruality, anniversaries, the events around us.

All these and more impact our experience and expressions of power. We learn to become aware of these various patterns and their impact on us and work more consciously with rather than against or in spite of them.

We learn that they are all part of the same process. We open towards the energy, rather than shut down to it. We learn to trust the flow. -

𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐍

People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that’s bu****it. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they’re afraid to feel?

Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they’re wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It’s all in how you carry it. That’s what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you’re letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐀 𝐁𝐀𝐁𝐘 𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐒

Aksel changed my entire outlook on how I viewed birth. He changed what death looked like for me. He taught me what beauty really was. I am forever grateful for the lessons this babe has taught me. For me, it is IMPERATIVE that YOU as a birth photographer know what to do when a baby dies, either known, or unexpectedly. Do you know what to do when a baby dies? Are you grounded in your death literacy enough to be the emotional first responder on the ground?

𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐄𝐗𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘

I thought it was Just Fine. The ingrained issues with being -born- very different, as well as developing more or having
chronic conditions/disabilities.

I thought it didn’t matter because I knew myself, and nothing phases me. I had a sound mind and a calm heart; logic and
grit have always propelled me. But every now and then, it jumps out at me. It reminds me how much I know it infected my roots, discolored my branches, and stunted my growth.
Disability is the largest minority, and the only one that can suddenly become an attribute to anyone at any point in their
life. But it seems to be the one talked about the least; s*xuality being the least discussed topic.

I’ve seen both persons with disabilities and/or visible differences as either objects to examine or as tokens for
inspiration, but never -just- as humans within the umbrella of s*xuality. Not in movies, photos, shows, or even in your
general damn conversations. It’s an issue that seeps in without having to ever be blatantly named or shown. The carbon monoxide of disability.

I knew it was an issue when I was younger and couldn’t speak even to join a conversation. I knew it was an issue when my “friend” groped me and I was too frozen to stop it. I knew it was an issue when I had no fear, yet tensing up or shaking from intimacy was involuntary. I knew it was an issue when a partner affectionately traced my scars and I didn’t realize I reacted with crying. I knew it was an issue when I simply retold the notions the world gave me with a blank face, but it caused my friend to sob.
