The Audience Connection Podcast, presented by Casual, is back with another great episode where our host, Lydia Chan speaks with Amy Goodman, VP of Creative Content Development at TeamPeople.

Don’t miss their discussion about briefing as a truly collaborative process where everyone involved becomes equally invested in the creative outcome. Amy also reveals why social media should be leveraged as a powerful space for authenticity and offers a fresh perspective on how AI's greatest potential lies in transforming the briefing process itself.

🎬 Welcome to this month’s Creative Round-Up! A dive into the creative work that’s caught our eye lately 👀✨

🧥 We’re into the bold, graphic style of this film for Re-Commerce Atacama, raising awareness about textile waste in the desert. It’s a fashion film with purpose: slick, stylized, and seriously cool.

🇳🇴 A clever twist on the traditional job interview format in this spot for Norwegian public service pension fund KLP. By flipping the questions on their head, the film gets to the heart of the impact public workers make.

⚽ Two very different but equally powerful campaigns stood out this month. Liga F brings emotion and power with a rallying chant celebrating the future of women’s football while Prazeres United is visual poetry celebrating grassroots football as we follow a boy’s journey through the favelas to the pitch.

🎨We spent fifteen minutes with a MadMan in this wonderfully made profile of ad legend David Bartel, blending playful animation with reflections on a career from the golden age of advertising.

🍞 This Rose Bakery rebrand turns the textures of baked goods into bold design. A warm, tactile identity that feels fresh, graphic, and genuinely delicious.

🚢And finally, ‘SOS… But Don’t Worry If Not’ is a delightfully deadpan short about a submarine in crisis. Absurd, charming, and somehow deeply relatable.

🌿 Welcome to Creative Corner, where we take a peek at the team’s recent mood boards. Here, we’re digging into the topic of sustainability and developing a look and feel for an interview-led series about our relationship with the natural world. Layered environments. Muted palettes. It’s early stages, but this one’s all about finding harmony between people and planet. 🌿

We made something really special with the team at FrieslandCampina!

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the heart of their culture, and they wanted a film that truly reflects that. Our team spent time with their employees before the shoot, learning how they’ve overcome exclusion, found strength in diversity, and what it means to feel valued in the workplace.

With a mix of new footage and archive content, Casual crafted a visual narrative that reflects FrieslandCampina’s diverse, multi-layered approach and commitment to fostering an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Congrats to the whole team who worked on this: Bronwyn Nathan, Dan Hankinson, Chris Dudley, Matt Alani, Will Hammond, Giselle Hyam, Tarryn Paul, Mikey Trotter, Tjodi Van Elk, and Julien den Ouden. Check it out! ⬇️

🎬 Welcome to Creative Round Up! A look at all the latest creative work that’s caught our eye .. 👀✨

🎥The camerawork and graphics in this short documentary for 100Weeks are something special. Paired with an authentic narrative, it’s a warm, immersive, and beautifully made piece that brings the project to life with depth and emotion.

🪡This Burberry spot is a masterclass in craftsmanship - each frame has been individually cross-stitched to create an animated tapestry. The attention to detail is incredible, and we can’t resist an ’80s synth track to tie it all together. 🏇🎶

⛹️Among many standout elements, the colors in this Adidas spot really grabbed us. But beyond the striking visuals, what makes it shine is its focus on celebrating the people (and dogs 🐶) behind the athletes.

🍋We love seeing AI used as a tool for the impossible, and this Original Source ad leans all the way into the surreal. Playful, bold, and just the right amount of weird - a great example of AI pushing creativity rather than replacing it.

🔠Finally, we came across this brilliant project: a typeface designed to enhance readability for those who are hard of seeing or neurodiverse. Inclusive Sans has been carefully crafted to improve legibility while maintaining a fresh, contemporary feel. A fantastic step toward more inclusive typography. 📖

For International Women’s Day, our team in Amsterdam had the privilege of working with to break the silence around period poverty. This film highlights findings from their 2024 research, and makes one thing clear: no matter where we live in the Netherlands, none of us should have to choose between period products and food (or any other essentials).

Thank you to the team who worked on this - everyone at Neighborhood Feminists, who were a joy to work with, and the team: Bronwyn Nathan, Ana BAlejandro Pose, Dan Hankinson, Chris Dudley, Ana Beltschewa, Tarryn Paul, VO Artist Margo Van de Linde and Rouze Podcast for lending us their studio.

Here’s how you can help them to make a difference:
- Watch & share this video! That’s how we together raise awareness.
- Take action. Bring this issue up at work, in schools, in government. Demand solutions for all, by together advocating for free period products.
- Donate via the link in the comments. Your financial support is vital, and goes directly and fully toward free period products for those most in need.

We recently wrapped this piece for Engie to celebrate their 2024 achievements toward their goal to be Net Zero carbon by 2045.

We took a sound-design led approach, highlighting Engie’s vision of a future filled with the sounds of nature. By blending archive content with carefully selected stock, we created a cinematic story that premiered alongside Engie’s 2024 results announcement in February 2025.

Huge shout out to Bronwyn Nathan, Dan Hankinson, Chris Dudley, Matt Alani, Will Hammond, Giselle Hyam, and Tarryn Paul for your incredible work!

Welcome to This or That, Casual’s new bitesize series where we look at the stylistic choices on offer to filmmakers today. There's a time and place for everything in our creative toolbox, but how do you decide what to use and when?

This week, we’re thinking about vertical filming.

From TikTok to Instagram Reels to YouTube Shorts, it's become the window through which we consume most of our content. It’s optimized for how we hold our phones, meaning higher engagement and a natural viewing experience. Horizontal, on the other hand, is more traditional. It's ideal for broader perspectives and that big screen feel. The choice between the two always depends on your video's intended platform and audience. What matters is using your screen’s real estate in the most effective way. Interested to hear your thoughts in the comments!📱or 🎥?

Our Story

Casual Films produces corporate and brand video for multinational businesses. Working globally, we support companies like BMW, GoDaddy, Facebook, Marriott, PwC, RedBull and Vodafone in communicating with video.

In 2006, our co-founders Barnaby Cook and Nick Francis took part in an old car rally from London to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. They produced 15 diary films on the journey for Expedia. Working with just a camcorder and a laptop, they realized they were at the leading edge of the video production revolution.

That lightweight, high-quality approach won significant awards, new staff, and followers. Casual was voted number one corporate production company in the UK, by our peers, for three years running. To date, we have produced nearly 10,000 films – continually honing our proprietary production process.

Building on these successes in the UK, Casual Films opened in New York in 2011. Our formula worked well in the US; the business grew significantly over the following years. The San Francisco office opened in 2017 and with Los Angeles following in early 2019. We were even recognized by a Board of Trade Award in 2018 for services to transatlantic commerce.
