A year ago, JamesMac didn’t exist.

Today, he’s a Radio Presenter, Interviewer and Live Music Host.

Almost a year on community radio with Shoreditch Radio.
National radio with Kerrang! Radio.
Interviews with some awesome and fascinating people.
Hosting sold-out live music events.

It’s taken a lot of hard work and resilience, especially on the days when I’ve doubted myself. I’ve had some great people believe in me when I didn’t always believe in myself, and a very supportive wife backing me all the way.

Yesterday I saw this poster:

And it hit me.

This is who I am now.

Proud of what I’ve achieved so far. Excited for what’s next. 🎙️

We are so pleased to announce that Proud Mary will be coming to Redditch Revival, and we only have 20 seats left!

The band will be playing an acoustic set in Whitetail, at The Hart at Headless Cross, in a candlelit room, a completely unique opportunity to see the trio in such an intimate setting

Manchester’s Proud Mary comes from the angst and sourness of those working class bands before them – The Smiths, James, Oasis, and The Stones Roses, and define a romance, like their counterparts did, with music.

Formed in 1999 and taking their name from the familiar Creedence Clearwater Revival song without really wanting to take over the world like some of their peers. The band simply aimed to make decent rock & roll with the passion of rhythm & blues, the diversity of space rock, and with simplicity of mid-’60s pop music.

Oasis’ Noel Gallagher took to their strict dose of blues rock music, and made them his first signing to his Sour Mash label.

They caught national appeal within the U.K. with Top Ten hit record ‘The Same Old Blues’, and follow up record, ‘Love and Light’.

Now located in San Diego, USA, the band returned home and completed a successful 2026 tour of the UK, and released two brand new singles ‘Rabbit Hole and Thunder’ and ‘Come Around Again’. Recorded at their studio in Palma Mallorca they now have a full album ready for release later this yard, which they plan to tour in 2027

I had my first day recently on national radio.
Walking into Kerrang! Radio at the Bauer Media UK building and seeing in person some of the biggest names in British radio was, honestly, a little intimidating.
I’d spent years listening to some of these people on the radio.
And now I was walking into the same building to record my first ever national radio show!
Some of the amazing names I saw whilst there…

From The BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show to The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 , Zoe Ball has become one of the UK’s most recognisable broadcasters.
She’s also presented Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on the BBC and countless major television and radio programmes.
Pretty impressive company to find yourself in on your first day whilst preparing for your own show with the producer…

A career spanning decades, from BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 5 Live through to BBC Radio 2
One of those voices you’ve grown up hearing on the radio.
And there he was
I gave him a wave and I received a wave and a smile back!

One of the most successful broadcasters in British radio history.
Decades at BBC Radio 2 , a legendary run with PopMaster and now continuing his broadcasting career on Greatest Hits Radio
Another radio giant I’d suddenly found myself sharing a building with.
Ken Bruce even took time to say hello to me in his distinctive voice!

Then I remembered something…
They all had a first day too.
At some point, Zoe, Simon and Ken all walked into a national radio studio for the first time.
This week, I had mine 😊
Who knows where it goes from here? 🤘🎙️

You know when you think a band is really awesome… 🤘

…and you think, “one day, I’d love to get the opportunity to play their music on national radio”?

Well… that’s actually happening.

I’m a massive Royal Blood fan, so I’m ridiculously excited to be playing their brand-new single Ten Over Ten on my first ever national radio show.

Their fifth studio album is on the way — their first since 2023 — and Ten Over Ten is a brilliant way to kick things off.
