📉 Britain's economy just sent another warning signal.
The UK's services sector—the biggest part of its economy—contracted for the second straight month, with June marking its sharpest downturn since January 2023, according to a new S&P Global survey.
Here's what's driving the slowdown:
⚠️ Businesses reported weaker demand.
⚠️ The ongoing Iran war added to economic uncertainty.
⚠️ Higher wages and transport costs continued to squeeze companies.
⚠️ Hiring fell for the 21st consecutive month, the longest stretch of job cuts since 2010.
While businesses are still raising prices, the pace of those increases has slowed. Some companies remain cautiously hopeful that easing tensions in the Middle East and investment in AI could improve the outlook.
📊 Is this just a temporary setback—or a sign that bigger economic challenges are ahead?
