Qatar is taking a firm position amid rising tensions between the United States, Israel and Iran, saying its territory and airspace should not be used to launch military action against Iran.
The issue comes as regional tensions remain high and Gulf states face increasing pressure to balance their relationships with Washington, Tehran and other regional powers. Qatar has repeatedly called for dialogue and de-escalation, while also stressing that it has the right to protect its sovereignty and security.
Qatar has also described Iran as a neighboring country and emphasized the importance of diplomacy, even while publicly condemning Iranian attacks on Qatari territory and other Gulf states. In recent months, Doha has continued to push for negotiations and efforts aimed at preventing a wider regional conflict.
The latest developments come as Qatar, Oman and other regional actors remain involved in diplomatic efforts surrounding the Iran conflict and the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most strategically important energy routes.
