Welcome to Radio Looe: The Voice of Our Town
Welcome to Radio Looe, your local non-profit community radio station! We will back on the airwaves, completely revitalized, and ready to bring the soundtrack of our beautiful coastal town straight into your homes, shops, and cars.
Radio Looe will be a registered Community Interest Company (CIC). This means we don’t answer to corporate shareholders; we answer to you. Every single penny of profit we make goes directly back into supporting the Looe community.
Run by the Community, for the Community
We believe that local radio should truly reflect the people who listen to it. That’s why Radio Looe will be powered by the passion of local volunteers. From the voices you hear presenting the shows to the team working tirelessly behind the scenes to man the studio, we are a team of your neighbours, friends, and local characters.
Something for Everyone (From the 1950s to Today)
Whether you loved our previous station or you are tuning in for the very first time, we will build a musical home for you. We will be bridging the generation gap through the power of great music and local chat.
Our massive playlist will span across seven decades of incredible music along with special shows such as Country, Reggae, Classical and many more along with our old favourite chat show, Looe Island Discs.
When the previous station was running. John Martin produced a series of six metal health shows which went viral and helped many people and possibly saved lives. We hope to maybe make this a regular feature.
For our loyal listeners: We’re bringing back the classic hits and nostalgic tracks from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s that you know and love.
For the next generation: We will actively spinning the freshest tracks, modern hits, and spotlighting new music to keep Looe’s younger generation tuned in and connected.
From rock ‘n’ roll and throwback anthems to today’s chart-toppers, if you love it, we play it.
Why We Do It
We know the town missed having its own dedicated station after we closed our doors a while back. But we used that time to regroup, rebuild, and return stronger than ever. Looe is a unique, vibrant, and tight-knit place, and we deserve a radio station that celebrates that every single day.
We aren't just playing music; we are here to shout about local events, support homegrown talent, provide a platform for local businesses, and keep you informed on everything happening in our corner of Cornwall.
