Fast jets doing what they do best. 🔥✈️

The F-35 pilots and the RAF Typhoon Display Team put on an incredible show for us at Lossiemouth yesterday.

More than an impressive display, it was a showcase of the speed, power, and capability of the UK’s combat air force.

We are excited to welcome our fellow RAF colleagues and aircraft to Lossiemouth tomorrow for Industry Day.

For our neighbours and the local community, from 1300-1345 (approx) there will be low-flying activity over the station. The following aircraft will be taking to the skies:
- Typhoon
- Poseidon
- A400
- F35

We do ask that spotters head to the north of the airfield (by West Beach), park responsibly, and do not stand at the red-and-white fences.

⚠️ Flying Notice ⚠️

On the 1st of October, RAF Lossiemouth is hosting MOD Industry Partners and RAF colleagues for an internal 'Industry Day'. As part of this there will be a short display over our station by RAF aircraft to showcase the UK's aerial capabilities to our guests.

Details and timings are still being confirmed. Any road closures will be confirmed by Police Scotland and Moray Council closer to the date.

Spotters are advised to follow the safety guidelines published in comments.

And in the south? Royal Air Force Coningsby stands ready. 🇬🇧

Want to fly a drone? Know before you go.

Whether our aircraft are taking off, landing, or responding at short notice, an unexpected drone near an airfield can pose a risk to flight safety.

That is why restrictions are in place around RAF Lossiemouth and the surrounding area. To request permission please email: [email protected].

We recommend getting in touch at least 2-weeks prior to your requested date.

If you don’t have the required permission to fly within the airfield’s flight restriction zone, don’t take off. Keep our airspace safe, and fly responsibly.

⚠ Flying Notice ⚠

847 Naval Air Squadron are returning to RAF Lossiemouth in October for a series of aviation exercises. Night-flying and low-level flying may take place at various times over the duration of the exercise.

🦺 Horse-riders (and their horses) should wear hi-vis to ensure pilots can see them from afar and, where possible, avoid you during low-level flying.

⚠ Flying Notice ⚠

From the 5th of October, several aircraft from RAF Lossiemouth will be operating from Kinloss Barracks as part of Exercise Agile Owl.

For our neighbours in Kinloss, this will mean increased aircraft movements, as well as aircraft flying lower than usual during take-off and landing.

A proud connection renewed. 🇬🇬

201 Sqn have returned to Guernsey for the annual Battle of Britain Commemorations.

Fundraisers, parades, and services were held as the Squadron came together with the island to renew friendships old and new, whilst also remembering 'the few'.

⚠ Flying Notice ⚠

Exercise Strike Warrior will commence next week, with the UK and our allies participating in a series of NATO-led naval exercises throughout the North Sea.

As part of the exercise, RAF Lossiemouth will play host to several of our allies and their aircraft over the next few weeks. This may cause increased activity in the skies over Moray and the Highlands.
