Comedy writing....

Learn to laugh while writing... (....apparently us humans can handle 7+ or -2 things before going into a tizzie....so, I've only listed 10 in the picture πŸ“Έ 🀭)

Come along to Writing Well, Drakes Crowtree Lodge Louth on Saturday 12th April 1-3.45pm. We are a group of friendly creatives who get together every 2 weeks, share our experiences in a safe, person centred environment. Saturday's exercises are based on writing funny πŸŽπŸŽ‰πŸ“šπŸ€©

Attendance price has increased by 50p because the price of kitchen roll has gone up, and they've chopped it so small it now could nearly be called a toilet roll 🚽🀭

To attend our group (not the toilet), it is Β£3.50 pp, plus Β£1 tea/coffee (we try our best to keep attendance cost to a minimum. Writing Well are working at being accessible to all.)

Let's talk about Mentoring and Ghost Writing:

Here's a little about me and what I can provide through Busy Corner Books:

I moved from Yorkshire to Lincolnshire in 2007. An accidental cottage renovation led to writing, publishing and marketing my own books. A huge learning curve, following the completion of 7 years professional training in psychotherapy, counselling, neuro dynamics, language patterns and communication skills.

I have presented therapy workshops/talks for doctors, medical staff and pharmaceutical companies. And for many different charitable organisations. I worked for MIND, a Well Women's Charitable Organisation, and the Lincoln Diocese as a Spiritual Companion, plus gave my time as a psychotherapist and group facilitator in the community.

Following a life-changing accident in 2023, I decided to use the experiences as a positive springboard. Wisdom, faith, determination, tenacity and sheer foolhardyness, drove me through.

In 2024, I began a Master of Arts in Creative Writing and decided to take advice on changing a hobby, Busy Corner Books, into a business, and grow a separate entity, Writing Well Community Focused Creative Writing Wellbeing Groups. Known as "Writing Well". (Making the groups financially accessible to all, disabled and neuro diverse friendly.)

By reaching out, re inventing myself, stepping outside of comfort zones, I began Writing Well as a pilot, Autumn 2024, successfully, and with great feedback from the attendees. A group of creative people from which I am eternally grateful.

Feeling inspired by the public interest in therapeutic "Writing Well" groups, I am taking advice from various organisations. I am also considering proposing a research doctorate from September 2025 on therapeutic metaphor and/or boundaries and ethical conduct in a one to one helping relationship. This will complement both Writing Well and Busy Corner Books. Potentially developing as a literary agency - possibly combining the two.

However, and in the meantime...

For Busy Corner Books: Mentoring and ghost writing is a popular at the moment. With ethical practice and motivational skills, I help people with great ideas reach their true voice in a safe unjudged environment via Teams, or in person.

"The basis of any good book is congruence of the Writer. I can do this through helping to bring out the best in a person, and getting it into written form."

Bringing an empathic listening ear, with patience and understanding, I have helped people get their lifelong passion onto paper and into published format.

This can be a deep process,

"...the foundational relationship of two people working together in this way is very important. It's about working through the potential author and putting my personality on one side. This enables any published work to be a true representation of the authors personality.

Being autistic, I have a hyperfocus ability, plus attention to detail. The literal and genuine personality helps me to grow a great relationship with others, "What you see is what you get." I am genuine and authentic.

I am not afraid to ask you questions: Facilitators often get stuck and forget to ask deep searching questions, this can be the key to discovering the message you would like to convey.

We live in a society where people presume and make up their own mind according to their own life experiences.

Being able to ask deep searching questions can bring you out of that 'box', expand your world, and encourage your unconscious to develop your own creativity, not mine. I am merely a vessel to help you get there."

If you would like to discuss your book, the dream, the one you have always wanted to write, contact me, [email protected].

I have worked with psychotherapists for nonfiction, to those who would rather not understand a computer, yet had a dream to see their heartfelt poetry and writing in publication.

Fees are reasonable and paced accordingly to each individual project. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Can you really put a price on your lifelong dream?

Contact me, and let's see what we can do and how we can work together ❀️ πŸ“šπŸ™

Good morning everyone. The birds are singing, I love the sound of Springtime fast approaching.

This is an ask....

For those of you who know me, I'm still working hard in the background, researching and pushing forward with my writing and the not for profit Writing Well. It's working, thank goodness, but I need to step things up.

Are you an organisation who would like a short talk/workshop where I would come along, speak about Writing Well and Busy Corner Books, make it fun and interactive (I've a qualified past history, believe it or not, of a mix such as stand up comedy - yes, I know, ... plus, psychotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy and neuro linguistic programming - put that in a pot with being neuro diverse, no fluff and straight to the subject at hand, it can be interesting, and quite different).

I'm thinking of perhaps a short talk, ie. a little history, a few interactive exercises (unlike any others), providing resources for better communication among your group, setting goals, sorting conflicts/mediation, and how to plan your future. In other words, communication is the key, how writing can take it forward, the services I offer, tools for you to take away, and empowering your individuality.

Given the above information, would you like me to come along to a group of your colleagues and provide this?

It's okay posting on social media, delivering posters at supermarkets and word of mouth. Now, I not only need to push a little further through my comfort zone, and get a bright purple and neon marketing hat that everyone will notice. I need to make things happen.

If you would like to discuss any possibilities, please feel free to send an email to me at [email protected] or a message on here.

The kind of people I have given talks for before have been, pharmaceutical companies, doctors and nurses, self help charities, and mental health organisations.

Thanks for your time in advance. I hope we can help and encourage one another.
