I do video training differently!

I don't believe in rigid frameworks and perfect processes
.. because this sends most people into a state of either perfection and/or procrastination!!
..OR it's what creates 'the cringe' if a certain approach or style (often unconsciously) doesn't fit well for you.

Instead, I create the guidance and support where you can experiment with different options - and find WHAT WORKS FOR YOU!!

Because there is no one right/wrong way to make video

What's more - this approach is way more FUN for you!  Both in the learning and subsequent execution

AND it gives you the FREEDOM to just BE YOURSELF on camera!

My mission is to make video more accessible - and that starts by making the entry point training to video more accessible

Drop me any kind of emoji that equals FUN for you in the comments and will send you most info about my free taster webinars in Jan

When you have the freedom to just be yourself - that's when everything starts to flow!

What a totally wonderful afternoon yesterday at The Long Game run by the incredible (birthday girl) , at the beautiful

I don't know what it was exactly, but the atmosphere was absolutely buzzing!

There is something about the spaces that Leigh-Anne creates with her events that just brings out the real human behind the business owner.

Everyone I met, or caught up with, was on top form yesterday - more friends than business contacts 😊

This is what I love about good networking; real people - real connections!
..And people some may call this work!? 😜 But this is how it should be

A big happy birthday again to Leigh-Anne, and I can't wait for the next event on 19th Jan (will add the event link to the comments if you want to join)

And lovely to see you all .photography
🙌😎🥂
.............

And if you want to feel as natural on video as you do in person - drop me a DM for details of my free webinar on Jan

Anyone else finding themselves craving more in person connection - over endless scrolling?

Really lovely lunch on Friday - thanks to Nigel from PureB2B (thanks to the intro from Dan)

(Although this month was a more causal social for Christmas...) I do love the Mastermind format.

Because sharing a challenge or question forces people to drop their guard and be real and vulnerable

And getting feedback and input from range of perspectives is super valuable
..while also giving a great insight into how different members think.

I'm recently been travelling to few of the events in North Kent...but would love there to be more events in South Kent!
..So if anyone in Folkestone neck of the woods fancy hosting a new group with me - give me a shout!!
.........

I'm recently build some new group workshops about different ways to use vide to strengthen in-person relationships

(....as opposed to collapsing video as only equally building social media following)

So if you're interested in supporting your networking efforts with video, do give me a shout and I'll send you details

TEST & LEARN .... everyone TALKS about the benefits of it - but I feel like I'm genuinely great at it!

I’ve spent 10 years putting out videos IN ORDER TO learn what works
(both in the context of video, but also my wider business offering)

10 years of testing ideas, explore opportunities, finding out what my audience likes, being very open to feedback and iterating fast

BUT …here’s the reality of it

…and its the bits that really DOESN’T feel so great!

From the outside, being good at testing and learning can often look like;

I'm super skatty,

I keep changing my mind,

I don't have a clear message

And I dont know what I’m doing!!

Basically one I my biggest strengths can often APPEAR as a weakness

And in some ways this is correct … I don't always know what I'm doing!!...

BUT

…its ONLY when we admit what we DONT KNOW - that we’re truly able to embrace and learn anything new!!!

Most people like the idea of being able to test and learn - but are not prepared for what this might look like to others

(Or how it makes them feel on the inside... because believe me - I beat myself up A LOT for not being clearer and more focused)

What I'm talking about here is different from just the vulnerability and fear of failure that most people think about when you say 'test and learn'
..instead it's about being ok to be in a space of uncertainty - but not just how that feels personally, but how the effect how you look to others - and dealing with what they might think of you as a result.

In the past I’ve often beat myself up for being 'skatty' or not being clear or focused enough

...but I've come to realise it just a necessary side effect of my biggest strength - which is my ability to always be curious, learning and exploring!

My mission now is to teach others how to exist more comfortably in this space - so that they can discover the full scope of themselves and their ideas (most often - in the context of creating videos)

And I believe being able to express and communicate our ideas is the first, yet most challenging, step in doing this!

And DIY video is a great accessible, affordable, and efficient medium through which to do this

So if you'd like to come on this crazy scary exhilarating journey into potential and the unknown - I’d love to chat

The biggest breakthrough many clients realise? .....

There are no hard and fast set rules with video!
.as Nat discovered in recent practical DIY video training day!

Just like how we all communicate slightly differently in the real world...

How you use video can be tweaked and tailored to fit YOUR communication style too.

Because it's the 'trying the fit the mould' which makes many people feel cringe about video (and therefore they avoid doing it).

This is one of my favourite things to working with client on;

How they can break the mould and unlearn what we feel we 'should' do ...

And find out what, why, where, how, who they ACTUALLY want to say!!

This may be:

WHERE you use video (social media is not the only way to use video!! Consider website, newsletters, DMs)

HOW you use video (sales and promo isn't the only option! Consider onboarding videos, client updates etc,)

WHO you create it for (new leads isn't the only option! Consider existing clients, your networking groups, new team members etc)

Video is basically just another tool and medium through which to communicate.

So who, what, where, how do you want to communicate?

And together, I can help you work out creative ways to use video to facilitate this!

Most people collapse 'video' = 'social media'
.and by extension, it being all about building a following and selling online.

But there are SO many other ways to use video
.and I'm particularly interested in ways to use reinforce and strengthen (as opposed to distract from) in-person relationships

Just few examples

Event videos - as a chance to capture a great conversation and new connections

Personalised follow up or check in videos in DM - as opposed to a generic text message

Onboarding video or FAQs ahead of a session - to allow you to maximise the value you can add during a session

A more relatable way to update contacts on new services or offerings, and/or to make it easier for others to refer you

These are just few options of how service business - for whom it's about real, in-person relationships (both with clients and their wider network) - can get value from video... beyond just building a following and getting leads from social media!

From January I'm going to be running group workshops - so drop me a DM if either;

you have a group (be that a group of peers, a networking group, a team etc) and you'd like a tailored session

You're an individual and would like to join a public group session

Are you thinking you should do video … because everyone else is?

I hear this all the time - “I feel like I SHOULD be doing video!

But do you really know WHY you want to - for YOU?!

…as opposed to just ‘to keep up’?

What is it you ACTUALLY want to say?

And is video the right medium?

Because at end of the day - video is JUST ONE TOOL with which to share your message and ideas

And before you can decide IF video is or isn’t right for you - you need to know what and why you’re trying to say.

This is a big part of what I work with people on in my sessions

…and sometimes - video ISNT RIGHT FOR THEM!!

And THATS OK!!

Because its not wasted time or effort

It’s REAL CLARITY

Both for their business AND for themselves…

That can be CONSCIOUSLY applied to any number of communication formats and mediums - that have now become clear which is most strategically aligned for them

So if you’re considering if video is right for you - but you’re still not sure

… but you’d like my help to explore it further
. then we can absolutely do that WITHOUT the pressure of worrying I’m going to try and convince you to do video!

24/11/2025

How does your body reach when you try to get on video?

What it trying to warn you about?

And what if, rather than suppressing it….

We could instead listening to it?!

Because if you don’t - it will only shout louder when you come to hit record

How this plays out is different for different people, but the most common impact I see are;

1. Hating seeing yourself on camera

2. Coming across as inauthentic, wooden, robotic, fake etc

3. Feeling inauthentic and hating the experience (and so unlikely to be able to be consistent)

Thats if you actually get to record - but for most people they just stuck in the no-mans-land of:

A. Perfectionism

B. Procrastination

C. Fear of criticism

But if, instead, you learn to listen to what you’re body is telling you - then it will actually help GUIDE YOU to a style, approach, message, and strategy which is far more ENJOYABLE and EFFORTLESS for you

Because in my 10+ years experience of both being on camera myself, and helping others to do the same…

…Ive seen time and time again, its not the you cant or dont want to do video - its just that HOW you’re currently trying to do it is MISALIGNED with your communication values and natural style

And the answer is definitely NOT more hints and tips (these often make things worse!)

…but rather I work with people to  simply:

identify and clear what doesnt work for them

and then to find and realign with what does ALREADY work for them -

and then find creative ways for apply this approach/style to a video format.

Simple - painless - and natural …just how video should feel - when you find YOUR unique way!

if you want to learn to listen to what your fears and concerns are telling you - drop me a DM and happy to arrange a discovery call

Why you shouldn’t worry about messing up and having lots of takes, when getting on camera….

… Because outtakes make for GREAT social media content!!

I’m been getting on camera and making videos for over 10 years now!

…and I still mess up ALL THE TIME!!

So here’s some of mine from series of sports related posts I did recently!

When it comes to getting started on video, I’m very much the fan of NON-PERFECT PROGRESS

…because just like in sport - we only learn to become natural on camera through direct experience

So if you want to overcome perfectionism, procrastination, cringe or fear of video …

I’ll help you create the safe space to explore, practice, test (and fluff it up a fair few times!) on video - in a way that feels low pressure, sparks curiosity, and is FUN!!

I’m currently offering free Video Alignment Audits - so from me a DM if you’ll like to book a slot
