Submitting a video alongside a CV, application, or grant is becoming more and more common.

Yet most people dread it!

I spoke to a lady recently who almost didn't apply for a grant (that she was perfect for her!) - because she was unsure and nervous about the video!

I wonder how many great candidates organisations are missing out on because of this?!!

This is why I love delivering my Confidence on Video training for careers/CVs/application;

To give talented, passion professionals the skills to confidently showcase themselves on video!

I didn't start on video by talking to camera ...

I started by doing interviews!

I did over 100 of them over 2yrs - for my The Big Ideas Show (which started as an FM radio show then evolved to a video series, then a monthly event)

Interviews are conversational, and therefore feel far more natural - and therefore easier - as a way to get started with video!

So It was such a treat to be taken back to my interview days...

But this time in the other side of the microphone!

Huge thank you to and for inviting me onto their Beyond Our Dreams Limited podcast

We chatted about my (rather random!) journey to what I'm doing now;
.. via studying design engineering, doing crazy "100 sports in 100 days" challenges, being petrified of public speaking and sharing ideas, to TV travel presenting and setting up a TEDx event!!

One of my goals this year is to share more of my own psychological ups and downs around visibility and self-expression

Because if want clients to trust me with their concerns and concerns - I've got to do the same and trust them/you with mine more often! 

So here goes! 

A big breakthrough for me very recently has been in my relationship with OWNERSHIP and OVERWHELM!! 

This was MASSIVELY supported by an amazing holistic body-cantered coach called (highly recommended!)

My less session with Ben felt like a huge shift in my human operating system! 

And the result is, where previously I would have felt overwhelmed quickly, and therefore (subconsciously) shut down opportunities ...

Now I'm less attached and I dont have to take ownership of (and make happen all on my own) all and every idea and opportunity ...

And as a result, people are starting to come to me with more ready made or collaborative opportunities 

It's still early dates, but I'm excited by the shift already 

Would love to head others experience of overwhelm and ownership

NEW STUDIO SPACE opened (and for hire) in Folkestone!

Well done to .photography on the launch night of his new photography studio on Tontine Street 

And on his 1year business birthday!

Excited to have another space available locally to use for video and content projects 

Chris tells me;

- They'll have option for equipment hire

- Option for natural daylight upstairs, and studio lighting downstairs 

- The space has been kept purposely sparse to make it as versatile as possible 
..anything outside of that - talk to him, as I'm sure most of what Ive said in the video is probably uninformed drivel! 🤣🤣

When I don't know what to say, or don't feel I can add "expert value" to something...

I make vlog videos! 

Also known as 'day in the life', 'behind the scenes' etc

Why?

Because they write themselves...

You literally just capture clips chronologically

Maybe add some description if you fancy it ...but not essential
