Some days just don’t feel like work! Yesterday was one of them. Had a lovely day checking out the LeMieux Grassroots Championships courses at Badminton Horse Trials followed by a hearty lunch at the Old Royal Ship.

Lovely to catch up with colleagues too 😁

Brilliant new concept from British Eventing Official!

𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐗𝐂 +

British Eventing (BE) is delighted to announce the pilot launch of XC +, an exciting new concept designed to offer more flexibility for our members.

⭐️XC+ is a shorter format of eventing, allowing participants to compete in two (2) out of the three (3) phases of the sport on the day.

⭐️XC+ will run alongside standard BE competitions at BE80 and BE90 levels at selected events with sufficient capacity.

⭐️XC+ is open to all British Eventing members, including Pay-As-You-Go members, who have completed a standard class at the same level within the past 12 months.

⭐️Members will be able to enter XC + one week after the ballot date and will have limited availability during the pilot year. Timings will integrate into the event schedule.

⭐️The entry fee for XC+ is 75% of the standard class fee, providing an affordable option for participation.

⭐️Standard rules for each phase apply, ensuring consistency with regular BE events, although the dress code for XC+ is more relaxed.

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭!

After nearly two years freelancing in the communications department at British Eventing, I’ve accepted a permanent, part-time position as British Eventing’s Communications and Content Manager. 😁

I’m really excited for this challenge, learning new skills and developing my professional experience.

This role will see me taking responsibility for all BE’s internal and external comms, as well as editing the magazine, and hopefully getting out and about to lots of events throughout the season, story-telling and sharing the great work that the team behind BE are doing on the ground.

Alongside my role at BE, I will continue with my other freelance commitments.

I’d just like to thank Maria Haig for taking me on and nurturing me at BE, and for Rosie Williams OBE and Jenny Clark for giving this amazing opportunity.
