A year ago today, the Pleasure Hides Your Needs EP saw The Royal Ritual revisit the album of the same name, with David showcasing his skills as a classically trained pianist and an amazing vocalist. Oh, and those remixes! Well worth a listen. Happy first birthday.

If you pre-ordered the vinyl edition of The Madelaine Affair, your order is already on its way. It’s officially out on the 31st of October, but because Monitors are such nice people, they’ve let us sneak it out a bit early.

And! This Sunday (26th of October at 9pm UK) we've got a listening party for the album over on Bandcamp. Join the band as they tell us about the conception and recording of the LP, as well as bringing it to live audiences in France and the UK. See you there?!

We’re bowled over with the reception Kiosk 67 has got, with about half the cassettes gone already. Recent live dates saw HawaiiWorms win more fans too, and we couldn’t be happier for Pete. Thank you from all of us. If you've not given this wonderful slice of electronic post-punk a listen, now's the time.

And that’s a wrap on our 2025 Spray tour. Five gigs, too many road and train miles, more meal deals than were advisable, and a bucketful of new friendships made. I don’t want to come off all serious, but putting on gigs is tough at the moment, emotionally and financially. But for all that, we’ve got to say that everyone involved made both legs of the tour an absolute pleasure.

So, in a not-so-random order, we’d like to thank the ace Adam of Happy Robots Records for promoting the London show, Infra Violet for travelling up from Brighton and smashing it, and the staff at for making us all feel so welcome.

Thanks so much to team VIEON and Matt’s very kind (and patient!) wife, Charlie, for the hospitality and tour guide services in between our London and Leicester dates.

The Big Difference in Leicester were great to us, a compact venue with lots of character and cool staff. And we’re grateful for Bjørn Felle zipping up and down the motorway to join us for this one.

There was a lot of cake, sandwiches, strong coffee, Persian food, cats, and tours of Manchester and Hebden Bridge with Jess and Nick of This Bliss before we got to the second leg of the tour the following weekend. Such great people to spend time with.

Our three Northern dates featured Spray and This Bliss from the previous weekend, along with HawaiiWorms bringing his Kiosk 67 EP from the studio to the stage for the first time. He got a great reception each night, which was fully deserved.

The three northern venues – Stage & Radio in Manchester, Plot 22 in Sheffield, and last but not least, Golden Lion Todmorden – treated us wonderfully, and we look forward to working with them in the future.

Big thanks go to Kirsty too, for the glorious artwork.

And last but definitely not least, thank you to everyone who came to see the bands. Especially to Alex, who came to all five dates, and Rachel, who attended four! That’s dedication! Are we allowed a humblebrag for Ady too, who made it all work? I think we are! To everyone who was with us, physically, emotionally, or just wishing us good luck, we thank you.
