Well, we had ourselves a bloody lovely time at Strummercamp Festival this weekend, hosting the indoor stage.
Huge thanks to everyone that was there, for being so warm and welcoming.
Thanks especially, to Phil, for allowing me the opportunity to showcase some of the acts I’ve been lucky enough to platform at ShyFest over the last few years.
It was a real honour to witness them performing in front of an entirely different audience. By Sunday the mood was so buzzing and positive, and at times I felt a bit emotional, thinking about how this project started as a tribute event to our dear mate Ste Shy whilst he was at the end of his life, and how it’s come to a point where all these wonderful talented people are showcasing their work under the banner of his original punk fanzine.
He would have absolutely loved every single one of the acts, although he would certainly find it all rather bemusing that we are still holding his influence and memory in such high regard.
Got to say a big “cheers” to Keith the sound guy; who was, in fact, a dead sound guy. And to Deb, for helping me out all weekend, as per.
Massive thanks and well done to everyone who turned up, got up, and did a turn - every single one of you was superb and brought lovely, positive vibes.
I have lots of footage to upload to the YouTube channel at some point when I have the time - in the interim, artists are welcome to access their raw footage from me directly, should they so wish. Just drop me a message.
The future of ShyTalk Legacy is very much dependent on my personal time, energy and finances, as I have been unsuccessful in my first attempt at an Arts Council bid (and trust me, they aren’t easy!).
All of the work I do on the project is completely not for profit. I never make or have made a single penny from any of the events I've staged or anything connected to the work I've done on the archive and such. Many hours of hard work, dedication and love go into keeping it going and you might be surprised to know it costs approx. £12 per month solely to keep the Shy Talk Legacy website and archive live.
If you have availed of, enjoyed, or benefitted from any of my work on the ever-evolving Shy Talk Legacy project, I have set up a Buy Me a Coffee link (https://buymeacoffee.com/shytalklegacy in case anyone is in the position to donate a bob or two now and then to help keep things chugging along.
Please follow our social media accounts for updates on upcoming happenings, as my personal Facebook account is once again... due to self-destruct!

Thanks, everyone.
Lots of love,
Yvette ###

Just a week to go now and we'll be getting ready to head off for Strummercamp, now in its 20th anniversary year!
The ShyFest team are managing the indoor stage all weekend, so expect to see Yvette, Sam and DebZ, and of course, The Ian Fourcandles Experience opening the stage on ShyFest day (Sunday) alongside some superb grassroots acts.
Thick Richard, Naomi Kalu, Miss Airedale, Neural Dance, Tao of Gino, Summat Not Right and brilliant new band Thighs of Steel!
Phil Fitzpatrick and his team work tirelessly on this event year after year, much like we do. It's a real honour to be able to get on board for this special programme of events in its 20th year. Hopefully see some of you there?
Drop me a message with any questions about tickets or lineup.
Thanks, as ever, for the support ###

As you're probably aware, all of my work on this project has been not-for-profit, purely for the love of archiving the wonderful legacy of Steve, as well as staging the grassroots events.
There are certain fees incurred in keeping things moving and evolving, and there are fees involved in sustaining the website.
If you appreciate and/or have beneffitted from any of my work and are in the position to contribute a few bob now and then, please use this link to donate.
It is also to be found under the bio on this page.
Many thanks for all of the support over the last FOUR years!
It has been a wonderful journey, with so many amazing experiences, and new friends made along the way.
Thank you ###
