This is Andy. He was a hugely-respected watch manager who was based at Atherton fire station in Wigan and sadly passed away on Boxing Day 💔

Flags were lowered at fire stations across Greater Manchester as a mark of respect. Now an online book of condolence has been launched by the fire service.

Friends and colleagues are being invited to share their memories of Andy Leyland and pay their respects to his family.

All comments left won't be visible to the public, but will be collated and shared with his family at a later date.

The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Our thoughts remain with Andrew’s family, friends, and our colleagues, at this difficult time."
