A year of moments that made Spiky Carrot grow.

This year has been all about growth at Spiky Carrot, especially growing our network with some truly amazing business owners. It has been a great year meeting so many of you, and I have been lucky enough to capture a few of those happy moments along the way.

Thank you all for the support, the conversations, and the opportunities. You have been brilliant, and I am really looking forward to building and growing even more together next year.

As everyone seems to be winding down and clocking off for Christmas, just a quick one from myself and Piper to say have a great Christmas and all the very best for 2026.

I am already looking forward to Spiky Carrot growing even more next year, with a few interesting things quietly bubbling away in the background. Big ideas, strong tea and even stronger coffee.

Enjoy the break. If you run your own business, you know this rest is very much needed.

Did you know that this time last year I was technically homeless.

I was taking shelter in the middle of nowhere in Wales, with no electricity, no central heating and, dare I say it, no Wi-Fi. Even more surreal, last year I did not attend a single Christmas party. This year, I have been to four.

In a very short space of time, Spiky Carrot has completely evolved and taken on its own personality.

What kept me going through that period was pure determination and a constant drive, knowing I was building something genuinely valuable for small business owners and independents. That belief carried me through long days roaming the countryside, waiting for my house purchase to complete and for life to finally feel back on track again.

Now, the scariest and most exciting question is what the next 12 months will bring. Looking back over the last year on LinkedIn really does tell a story of how I have reached this point in my startup journey so far. The love and passion behind Spiky Carrot are still pushing me forward towards even greater things.

Do we ever stop, look backwards, and give ourselves a pat on the back?

One last thing, wow I’ve met some brilliant business owners this year, who without you guys I’ll still be lost!!!

Wow. First time I have ever won an award for something I genuinely love doing with Spiky Carrot, and it feels brilliant. Thank you to everyone at the KCC end of year round up and Christmas bash.

The secret Spiky Carrot gifts were absolutely hilarious. The enormous carrot in particular had me in stitches. I suppose I will now have to bring it along to the next networking event.

It means a lot to be recognised after one incredibly hard and constantly evolving twelve months working on the Spiky Carrot .
