Our Dogs International is a new & exclusive website from Our Dogs covering European and World Dog Shows
We also have this Facebook group for news from the shows, livestreams and information about our exclusive special, glossy international issues. This site is a natural addition to the famous www.ourdogs.co.uk site which has been in existence for over 10 years and has amassed an army of followers

worldwide. www.ourdogsinternational.com is a new look, fresh site that documents and reports dog shows the world over and is your perfect one stop site for all the main shows in Europe, photos, reports and news. Supported by Eukanuba, the site carries in depth material for the Eukanuba World Challenge both past and present. There is a small joining fee to help support our activities in bringing you all the best for pedigree dogs from the show world.

IAN SEATH online statement:

12 months ago, I was elected as Chairman of the Royal Kennel Club. It was not something I was expecting but I was pleased to have the opportunity to serve. It has been the privilege of a lifetime. For the avoidance of doubt, I did not “step down” as Chairman. A small majority of the Board chose not to re-elect me. At that point, there was no way I could continue to sit on the Board and I have also resigned from the RKC’s Health and Breeding Advisory Group.

I don’t think anyone could be prepared for what the role entails and the breadth of areas of the RKC’s work where the Chairman makes a contribution. In some ways, that’s what made the role so interesting.

It’s felt like a 24/7/365 role, albeit as a volunteer, and I have had incredible support from Jannine Edgar (Chief Executive) and her professional team of Executives and their staff. Over the 7 years I have been on the Board, I have also worked with some amazing Director colleagues, whose commitment to the RKC and its mission have been constant. I should also thank the many RKC Members for their support and encouragement through some difficult times.

I won’t miss the relentless negativity and, in some cases, toxic and bullying behaviour from a minority of people in our community. Some of that happens face-to-face as well as online and none of it makes our world welcoming to newcomers, let alone longstanding exhibitors and participants. The world of pedigree dogs is under scrutiny like never before and all that negative energy could be so much better spent on addressing the issues that are spurring on ever more legislation.

My highlights have been the meetings with grassroots dog people at shows and other canine activities around the UK. I’ve been invited to so many occasions that celebrate the best of our canine world. The time and effort put in by so many dedicated volunteers is what makes our world work.

Without wishing to sound too much like Kier Starmer, I’ll now be able to enjoy more time with Sue and our dogs. I will also be able to devote more time to the Charity which I chair, Dachshund Health UK.

For me, it’s all about the dogs. Always has been; always will be. We are at their service.

GAVIN ROBERTSON ELECTED AS ROYAL KENNEL CLUB CHAIR

LONDON, 30 JUNE: The Royal Kennel Club (RKC) Board has today (30 June) elected Gavin Robertson as the Royal Kennel Club Chair and Yvonne Rawley MBE as the Royal Kennel Club Vice-Chair

Gavin has served on the board since 2024 and has been a member of the RKC for 22 years. He awards Challenge Certificates in more than 70 breeds and judges the Hound, Gundog, Utility and Working groups in addition to Best in Show at championship level.
He has been involved in breeding and showing dogs since he was a child and has both bred and owned over 90 UK champions across five groups, including Best in Show at Crufts in 2013 with the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen (Ch Soletrader Peek A Boo). He also bred the Westminster 2023 Best in Show winning Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen (Am Ch Soletrader Buddy Holly).
Alongside his involvement in the dog world, Gavin is an owner and co-owner of multiple companies.

Gavin said following his election: “I am thrilled to have been elected as Chair of the Royal Kennel Club and would like to thank my fellow Directors for their support.

“I am committed to working with colleagues across the organisation to build on our successes, champion responsible dog ownership and breeding, and to ensure that the Royal Kennel Club continues to thrive for future generations.

“It is an honour to take on this important role, and I look forward to engaging with the leadership team and Board over the coming weeks as we build on the strong foundations already in place to deliver for the dog community.”

Gavin will make a further announcement in due course.

The new Royal Kennel Club Vice-Chair, Yvonne Rawley MBE, was elected to the Board in 2025 having been involved in the showing world of pedigree dogs since the 1970s. She has enjoyed success with Tibetan Spaniels, Shih Tzus, Pekingese and Poodles, breeding or owning champions across all of these breeds. She also awards Challenge Certificates in these breeds and has judged at Crufts and around the world.

The RKC would like to thank former Chair Ian Seath for his leadership and commitment to the organisation over the past year. Ian has chosen to step down from the RKC board. The RKC would also like to thank Paul Eardley, who has stepped down as Vice-Chair, a role he has held since 2022, for his valued contribution. The Board is grateful to both for the significant roles they have played during their tenure.
