TAKE ACTION THIS EARTH DAY 🌍🌲🌊
It might not always seem like it but we CAN make a difference.
Our collective action shapes culture and behaviour.

Some of the most important actions are free and fairly inconvenient:

🗳️ Vote -
including in the local council elections coming up. This is your opportunity to vote for the people who make decisions that impact you and everyone around you

🧑‍🌾 Volunteer -
commit to just a few hours every month in your community. It’ll provide endless benefits for other and for yourself

👫 Join a community group -
spend time with others in real life and feel part of something bigger

🏠 Speak to your neighbours -
in a world where we feel so distant from each other we need to build community more than ever. You never know how many people’s lives you could change, just by speaking to them

That’s called planned obsolescence 💻

E-waste is the fastest growing form of waste. We are living in the fast tech era - where we replace our old devices after just THREE YEARS. It’s an overconsumption crisis.

I’m actually over the moon that there is now a solution for this.

Back Market have teamed up with Google so that our old laptops can be used again!

They have created the ChromeOS Flex USB key, which installs a secure, cloud-based operating system onto our old devices, meaning that they are secure and usable again. It’s a game changer.

You can win one of 5 of these USB keys by commenting on this video, tagging , or buy your own at Back Market.

Full competition T&C’s can be found in my bio 💚

I’m in the Guardian!!! 🗞️
Very proud to be among this group of ‘enoughfluencers’ in ’s beautifully written piece about having and being happy with enough.

I had a great chat with Fleur all about my love of repairing, repair cafes & borrowing from neighbours - something I think we could all benefit from.

If you don’t know her already, do follow Anna .needing.new. She’s written a whole book about being content with enough.

I’m sad I couldn’t show my mum the final piece but I know she would have framed it and hung it in her study 🤍

In memory of my sensational Mama, Claudia ❤️

My wonderful mum passed away peacefully last weekend, surrounded by family, after battling bowel cancer for 9 months.

She was an incredible human being. Her kindness, welcoming nature, and her silliness made her an absolute joy to be around.

She was so generous. She donated to multiple charities every month & would go out of her way to help anyone in need.

She was incredibly social, an active member of her local ladies club, walking club, church, and U3A group. Volunteering at any opportunity she could, she was the epitome of what we mean when we say “a villager”.

She taught me so many things that made me into the person I am. So much of my environmental outlook comes from her, I have been gifted many opportunities because she taught me her native language, and even though I would get annoyed at her playing the devils advocate, she taught me to always consider others perspectives.

This has been a terribly difficult journey. Yet it gives me comfort, and was an honour, to have been able to hold her hand through it all, from her first diagnosis until her last breath.

I have a link in my bio to support Cancer Research. My mum was a shop volunteer for the charity long before her diagnosis. Their work really does save lives.

My sister’s iron & I got invited to UK Parliament! 🥌 pr
Swipe to see the inside of the iron!

The UK is the 2nd highest producer of electronic waste per capita in the world 🤯

I went with to their Parliamentary Repair Cafe, to celebrate the milestone of 100 MPs signing the UK Repair and Reuse Declaration.

The declaration asks to:
💷 make repairing more affordable
📱 expand the UK’s right to repair to cover all consumer products
📋 introduce a repair index to help consumers choose more repairable products
👩‍🔧 support new generations of repairers

There are now over 800 repair cafes in the UK!
That is so so incredible!!!

If you haven’t been, search for your local repair cafe & take any broken belongings with you - or even better, consider volunteering!

Sadly my sister’s iron couldn’t be repaired because a screw was stuck fast. Watching Mikayla use all of her skills, but still struggle to open it, really demonstrated how products aren’t designed to be repaired. That needs to change.

Have you been to a repair cafe?

Nature 🏔️ > Shopping 🛍️
I’ve always found it weird that ‘shopping’ is a hobby. Hobbies to me are activities like crafting, sport, playing music. Activities that reduce stress, don’t induce it 😂

You’ll forever find me up a mountain, not inside a shopping centre.

My thoughts after watching The Plastic Detox 💭

I’ve done many a video about where plastic has been found in the human body and it comes as no surprise to me that the chemicals found in plastic are impacting our fertility.

Reducing the amount of plastic you use in your day to day life is important for your health. You would worry about having asbestos in your house - do the same for plastic.

We should be up in arms against big oil and corps that are pushing the message of recycling as a solution. This isn’t just about the environment. It’s about our health.

It’s important to note that plastic is just one of many causes of fertility problems & conceiving is a really personal and potentially difficult conversation. I believe we all have the right to choose whether or not we want children & plastic shouldn’t be allowed to impact that.
