Sometimes āIām tiredā means āIām lonely.ā Sometimes a smile is covering something much heavier.
This October, letās make space for honest conversations about depression and menās mental health.
Depression is not always obvious. It can look like irritability, exhaustion, sleeping problems, isolation, loss of interest, physical pain, self-criticism, reckless behaviour, or feeling completely overwhelmed. It can affect thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and physical healthāand it can look different from person to person.
Someone may appear to be the happiest person in the room while struggling deeply inside. Depression is not a choice, laziness, or something that can be fixed by simply saying ācheer up.ā
If this feels familiar, you do not have to explain everything perfectly. Try one small step: tell someone you trust, book a GP appointment, join a support group, or send a message that says, āIām not doing great at the moment.ā
Talking saves lives. Silence doesnāt.
Save this carousel, share it with someone who may need it, and check in with a mate who has gone quiet.
