Last week we got the chance to catch at Manchester Academy; a comeback show, with a difference.

Thursday 6th November had been marked in any Mancunian Hard Life fan’s calendar for months, the date that these underdog heroes would make their return to the city —armed with a new name, new songs and a renewed blazing passion for performing. Something that just a mere 12 months ago seemed so far out of reach.

Musically tighter than ever, filled with a new unflappable determination, yet still finely skilled in the art of making sure absolutely everyone at their show has a good time, one thing is clear, Hard Life are back, and more boisterous then ever.

Last week, Leeds based solo artist unveiled his hotly anticipated EP ā€˜Back By Popular Demand’.

Self proclaimed as ā€˜Harry Styles for 6 Music Dads’ Spielmann takes the moments that make life so wonderful, terrible, and at times terrifying and turns them into catchy, hopeful, and huge-sounding alternative pop tracks that we just can’t get enough of.

Testament to the ability of his storytelling, Spielmann aka Ben Lewis, places a character at the epicentre of this project. Writing through the lens of Spielmann, a sarcastic and sharp tongued yet sensitive protagonist, Ben perfectly captures the modern Millennial panic and wraps it in a synth filled, easily digestible package in his latest project.

When asked about the sound of the new tracks he quipped: "Musically it sounds bigger, better and crisper, but it’s still a bloke in his 30s being sarcastic about stuff."

With just one week to go until the mighty Reading and Leeds Festivals return , we've been doing a deep dive into the line up so you don't have to!

With new stages, new campsites and an era-defining lineup of headliners like Chappell Roan, Hozier, Bring Me The Horizon and Travis Scott, 2025 is set to be the festival's biggest year yet. Of course it wouldn’t be Reading and Leeds without an array of incredible emerging talent on the lineup, too, with Antony Szmierek, Snayx and Good Neighbours all set to perform over the weekend.

With over 150 acts performing across both festivals, there’s plenty to choose from for even the fussiest of festival goers.🫔

Head to the link in our bio to see who we're watching at this year's festival. šŸ™Œ

Keep an eye on for updates!
