🚨 LATEST: UAE officials have WARNED the UK government that the severity of the ruling on Manchester City could affect future major UK investments, and consider the Premier League’s actions to have an influence on relations between the two countries. 🇦🇪🇬🇧

The current UAE-UK investment partnership is set to be discussed at a summit in London later this month, with British officials hoping to secure further commitments.

Under the original five-year agreement, the UAE’s sovereign wealth fund, led by City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, committed £10B to British industries. Total commitments have since reached nearly £30B.

The hate, threats and abuse (even racist abuse) that I and many other Manchester City fans have received over the last few days simply for supporting the club we love are sickening.

Fans have no control over decisions made by owners or executives. We fell in love with a club, with the players, with the game and with the community. We haven’t done anything wrong by supporting our club. And we are not running away.

Nobody should have to live in fear because of the badge they wear. Rivalry should never cost us our humanity. Rival fans need to do better than targeting City fans with unnecessary hate.

City fans, stay safe and don’t be afraid to show your colours. Let them bark. Ignore the haters. We stand together. 🩵

🚨 BREAKING: Man City will attempt to prove their INNOCENCE by arguing that the government of Abu Dhabi part-funded sponsorship deals, rather than the club’s owners Abu Dhabi United Group – a private company owned by Sheikh Mansour – and as such, no rules were broken. ⚖️❌

City’s ‘irrefutable evidence’ includes government bank statements and witness statements presented at the hearing, showing that money was transferred from government accounts to sponsors, who then used it to pay the club.

The independent panel found Sheikh Mansour was unaware of what it described as a series of ‘sham’ deals. In their appeal, City are likely to argue that the idea of Mansour being unaware of around £830M of his own money being used is implausible.

High-powered lawyers acting on behalf of Man City are likely to question the amount of time it took the independent panel to deliver its verdict, pointing out that in such cases judgments should be delivered within three months of a hearing concluding, so judges can properly remember evidence when crafting their judgment. As a result of the time taken, they will say the decision is ‘unsafe’.

🚨 BREAKING: Man City’s main sponsor, Etihad Airways, is considering LEGAL ACTION against the Premier League! 😤⚖️

The Abu Dhabi-based airline says it ‘categorically rejects’ the findings of the competition’s commission and warns it is now seeking legal advice on next steps.

Etihad Airways spokesperson: “Etihad categorically REJECTS any finding, conclusion or implication that suggests the airline has ever been involved in improper commercial arrangements.”

“Etihad is deeply concerned by the way this matter has been communicated publicly. The lack of clarity and transparency, together with the selective disclosure of information, has created damaging implications for Etihad despite the airline not being named in the published decision. The Premier League must take responsibility for the consequences of the way in which these findings have been presented."

“We stand with the Club, its supporters and our wider Etihad community as Man City challenges the Commission’s conclusions through the processes available to it. Etihad will seek the relevant legal counsel on the options and recourse available to protect its interests.”
