This is Masrob. His family have paid tribute after he was killed in a horrific car crash in Bolton on Sunday 💔
Despite having to learn English from scratch, after emigrating to the UK from Bangladesh at the age of 12, Masrob Ali was determined to make a life for himself and a home for his family.
So committed was he to giving his children the very best start in life, Masrob saved up in order to have his own house built, on a small street in Blackburn close to his mosque.
When he was 25, Masrob returned to his home country, where he met his wife Husna. They returned to Lancashire not long after, when Husna was pregnant with Humayra, their first child.
Masrob and Husna went on to have three more children; a boy now aged 26, a girl, 21, and a second boy who is just 13. Husna's sisters and the wider Muslim community are supporting the family as they try to deal with their devastating loss.
"I just can't get my head round the fact that he'll never walk back through the door," Humayra said. "I keep thinking it's just a horrible dream and I'm going to wake up and none of this is real.
"Everyone has said he was the gentlest soul. Nobody had a bad word to say against him.
"He was so hard-working. He did everything for his family. Nothing held him back and he taught himself everything.”
Absolutely heartbreaking 💔 Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those affected at this difficult time
