🚨 BREAKING: 8 people have been killed and others seriously injured, and cattle have been stolen in a raid in Gogrial East.

Authorities in Gogrial East say armed men in uniforms, believed to be from Mayom County in Unity State, attacked Lueel Boma in Gok-Nyuon villages, Mangol Apuk, Gogrial East County, Warrap State. At least eight people were killed and several others were injured.

Local officials say the attackers came around 3:00 a.m. and drove away hundreds of cattle. The cattle owners are now chasing the raiders to try to get their animals back.

This is the second major cattle-related attack in Gogrial East in less than a month. A few days ago, the Commissioner of Gogrial East was accused by authorities of having links to Nuer cattle criminals. Commissioner Wiliam Duchak Bol has been suspended from his duties, and Executive Director Aduot Anyieny Aleu is currently acting in his place.

Attempts to contact Mayom County and Unity State officials were unsuccessful. This is a developing story, and more details are still unclear.
