🌳 Folkestone is getting greener!

The A Brighter Future project has begun work on rain gardens along Cheriton Road and Bouverie Square. 🌿

The rain gardens will collect run-off water and filter pollutants to water vegetation and provide a natural habitat for wildlife. A further benefit of rain gardens is slowing the flow of water entering the drainage system, minimising the impact of any flooding.🌸

Bouverie Square will have an underground filtration system to collect and reuse rainwater to water the surrounding plants. The square will be transformed from a concrete space with little vegetation to a park filled with planting and new trees resulting in a huge biodiversity gain for the area.

18 new trees will line Cheriton Road, wildflowers will support bees and butterflies, and over 70 trees will be planted overall.

🌱 While a few trees have been removed for regeneration, the scheme will make the town centre more welcoming and sustainable.

Will you enjoy these new green spaces in Folkestone? 🌿

🫶The power of print! 🤩

In our Church Crookham CommunityAd Magazine, we shared a story from Hampshire local Rebecca Ebbage . 🙌

A lifelong eczema sufferer, Rebecca has been prescribed steroids on and off since she was 11 months old and is now struggling with an intense case of Topical Steroid Withdrawal. Help is hard to find, so she’s fundraising to afford private Cold Atmospheric Plasma Therapy at a clinic in Wi******er.

You can read the full story via our Exclusives👇 https://www.communityad.co.uk/exclusives/help-rebeccas-road-to-recovery

Fast forward twenty-two sessions and over £5,000 of donations, CAP is truly changing Rebecca’s life.

Below, you can see four before and after pictures. 📷They alone show how much CAP is worth.

In Rebecca’s words, “The pictures really are worth a thousand words. A thank you will never be enough, but I want to thank everyone who has supported and donated my journey so far! None of this would be possible without the kindness and generosity of you all!

“The difference this treatment has had on my physical health as well as my mental health is unimaginable. Truly from the bottom of my heart, thank you! You are all giving me my life back piece by piece. I feel so lucky and grateful to have access to this treatment and to have raised funds for treatment thus far!”

📍Featured below is also a picture of Rebecca with one kind donor. Two strangers connected by Rebecca’s story in our magazine; a channel was opened and they met up for a chat over coffee, parting as new friends.

To donate to Rebecca’s fundraiser and keep this life-changing treatment flowing ☺(she’s got six months to go!) visit https://www.gofundme.com/f/topical-steroid-withdrawal-medical-treatment
