Hi, I’m Charlotte Allen, Director at The Business Hut and co-host of Behind Harborough 🎙️

I started my business after wanting more flexibility around for a work life balance - although, like most business owners, I quickly realised running your own business doesn’t always mean less work 😅

Over the years, one of my favourite parts of the job has been getting to know the people behind the businesses. Not just what they do, but why they do it, the challenges they face, and the reality of juggling business and life at the same time.

That’s exactly why we started Behind Harborough, to have honest conversations with local business owners and shine a light on the brilliant independent businesses in and around Market Harborough 👏

A few fun facts about me:�👉 I absolutely love sorting out a messy set of company books, it’s like a weird jigsaw that I can’t wait to sit down and play!
👉 I started my business 14 years ago, when I was 26�👉 Most of my best business ideas seem to happen when I’m totally overstimulated on the school run 🤷‍♀️

Linda - the other half of Behind Harborough 🎙️

Hi, I’m Linda Dominiak, founder of Tantum Financial Services and an Independent Financial Adviser. I started my business in 2020 and help people feel more confident about their financial future. What I’ve always enjoyed most though is hearing the stories behind the numbers.

That’s why I co-host this podcast, to celebrate the brilliant independent businesses in Market Harborough and share the journeys behind the shop fronts we see every day.

A couple of fun facts about me:

👉 I’m originally from Poland, which makes it even funnier that I once thought I understood Slovak… until I realised the people I was speaking to were actually speaking Polish (something my husband still reminds me of!)

👉 And at home, our wire fox terrier is convinced he runs the place. He’s got a bed in every room to prove it.
