Combining Quack Media, Shopify and design work with my Mindfulness training, is my plan for this page going forwards.
Below are a couple of logos I’ve created this past year. Often from scratch but sometimes a revamp of an established logo. The one I’d really like to share will have to wait a bit longer, it’s one of the nicest things I’ve done, in my view. When the clients website goes live, I can share both.

Print dropped off this week to a local coffee shop, Mint & Ginger in Tur Langton. A new sign for the outside, new menus, posters, stickers, and loyalty cards.

I attended a lovely meeting yesterday over tea and laughs in a beautiful setting with the opportunity to create a heritage-style logo & branding and a new website for a Leicestershire-based business. On the recommendation of an old friend and long-time client. I had to curb my enthusiasm as I'm a huge lover of history and old buildings, so this is perfect for me.

This is a seasonal reminder to update your website. I tend to update mine every season, sometimes more often in terms of colours and banners. It shows your customers you take pride in what you do and of course, it helps your SEO. If you can add a blog, even better, updating it once a month is enough, as anything is better than doing nothing. And it's a handy thing to tell people about!

Last week was an absolute triumph. Since becoming heavily involved in the socials for local SKY theatre and sister company PSA in Melton Mowbray we’ve promoted two amazing musicals. Phantom in St Mary’s church in May to huge acclaim and this past week Les Miserables at Melton Theatre.
I’ve searched my brain to find ways to entice, uplift and encourage people to buy tickets. Of course, it helps when you have something amazing to sell. When you hear people chatting about how wonderful it was on a park run, others saying, ‘I came because it popped up in my feed’ you know it’s worked.
Onto the next show, with a sense of achievement that we’ve helped to keep this little local theatre, Melton Theatre going and given a stage to some incredibly talented kids. One of their claims to fame is two of the Les Mis cast from a production nine years ago went on to perform in Les Mis on the West End.

There is the possibility of a new social media client for me this week, so looking forward to seeing how that develops.

I had a reminder email about BARK today, a business I haven't used in years but when you're registered with them you can pitch for work and in my case social media projects and Shopify. I noticed how out of date my profile was, literally 5 years out of date! So I've spent half an hour updating it, as well as my website and my book website. These things are so easily overlooked and I'm forever telling clients to keep their websites refreshed!!
I chose a mix of logos and social media posts from over the years, sometimes hiding client names. I don't really have a style, bright and bold or pretty and delicate.

After several weeks away, it's been good to catch up on some work both for Quack Media and my children's books.
I'm working on several Shopify sites at the moment, one for a local school and another one for a Hong Kong-based gift business, a project I designed initially about 6 years ago.

Last week I collected the print of my new children's book which was very exciting, The Football Game. A 32-page colour picture book follows Billy age 6 overcoming his nerves as he looks forward to a game at his local club. This new book is for sale on my website https://karenwilbournbooks.com/ and also at my up-and-coming Book Launch this weekend. When Sunday comes I think I'll put my feet up for an hour!
