Advice against bathing or entering the sea at 12 of the district's beaches is lifted from 4pm today, Friday 12 June 2026.

All signs warning against bathing or entering the sea will be removed from the affected beaches between Newgate Gap in Margate and Ramsgate Main Sands.

Advice against bathing had been in place following a confirmed discharge of storm wastewater by Southern Water on Wednesday 10 June, following the heavy rain.

Storm wastewater is a combination of sewage and surface water.
