** 24 YEARS TODAY** On December 31, 2000, the Miyazawa family—Mikio, his wife Yasuko, and their two children, Niina and Rei—were tragically murdered in their home in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. Despite extensive investigations and the discovery of significant forensic evidence, including undigested food in the perpetrator’s stomach, the case remains unsolved. This incident led to the abolition of Japan’s statute of limitations for murder in 2010.

This case is one of Japan’s most infamous unsolved murders, highlighting the profound impact such tragedies have on communities and the enduring quest for justice.
