I've been diving into the Progress Wrestling Chapters on Progress On Demand, and it's fascinating to see which wrestlers from its early days helped shape the promotion's success. Unfortunately, some of the original stars have lost their good reputations due to various incidents.
What stands out to me is the hard-hitting style and watching so many wrestlers make the leap to WWE or AEW. Will Ospreay, Tommy End (Alistair Black), Big Daddy Walter (Gunther), Noam Dar, and Pete Dunne are just a few names I’ve encountered so far. I'm currently at the first Super 16 tournament from 2015, and I know there are more stars to come.
Progress Wrestling might not be for everyone, but if you enjoy intense action, it’s definitely worth exploring. The fans bring so much energy with their wild chants, and the smaller venues create a unique atmosphere you just don’t get in larger arenas.
To date, I’ve attended four Progress events in London, Manchester, and Newcastle, and I’m eagerly awaiting my next live show. Until then, I’ll keep working through the Chapters and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone searching for an alternative to AEW or WWE.
