Before the transformation comes the clear-out 🏚️➡️✨

I’m just starting a full room renovation and all of this waste needs to go first. I’m looking for a fully licensed waste removal company to take it away.

If you know someone reliable, please tag them in the comments 👇 — it’ll be a huge help!

Thanks in advance 🙌

It might be wet and miserable out there today 🌧️, but I’m starting a brand new project that’s anything but!

For this one, I’ve been involved right from the beginning, helping my client choose everything from the colour scheme to the bedroom furniture, flooring, and more.

Now, I’m not an “interior designer” by trade… but one thing I really love doing is helping people achieve the room of their dreams. That means I’m more than happy to support you through the whole process: from the planning stage, right through to the finished result.

It’s not just about paint and wallpaper, it’s about creating a space you’ll love coming home to ❤️

If you’re thinking about refreshing a room or planning a bigger project, feel free to get in touch. I’d love to help bring your ideas to life.

This morning I want to ask a favour...

A friend of mine, an electrician named Jordan, got in touch recently and said he hadn’t seen any of my posts for years. He actually thought I’d disappeared off Facebook altogether! The truth is, I’ve been here the whole time… it’s just the algorithm working against me.

That’s why I’m reaching out today. If you’re seeing this, could I ask a little favour? 🙏
✅ Leave me a quick comment below (even just a hello 👋)
✅ React to the post (👍❤️🙂 — the positive ones!)
✅ And if you’re feeling extra kind, give it a share

Doing these small things really helps make sure my posts keep showing up in your feed. It also means more people can see the work I do, which as a small business makes all the difference.

Thanks so much for your support, I really do appreciate every single comment, like, and share. 💙

🚗 Off to Newton Aycliffe today for a nice straightforward job — painting 16 newly fitted doors.

I’ll be using Dulux Diamond Satinwood, a 100% water-based system. Why? Because it:
✅ Stays white (no yellowing over time)
✅ Has low odour
✅ Dries quickly, so I can get the work done efficiently

That’s a big difference compared to traditional solvent-based paints, which can discolour without UV light, take hours to dry, and fill the house with strong fumes.

My daughter forgot her packed lunch this morning on order to slow me down 🍎🥪 which meant a dash along to the school before the 51-minute drive down here. Real life, eh? 😅

If you’d like advice on the best paints to use for your home — or you’ve got a decorating job, big or small — don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Just wrapped up the exterior project in North Shields and put together a little video to show the full finish 👇

✅ Guttering cleaned
✅ Fascias & soffits scraped back, sanded, filled, undercoated & glossed
✅ Rotten sections replaced with new wood panels, primed, undercoated & glossed
✅ Plastic trims refitted to finish the job properly

Not just a fresh coat of paint, but repairs and proper preparation to make sure the result not only looks great but most importantly lasts. That’s always the goal. 💪

If you’ve got any decorating work you’d like done, big or small, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Whether it’s interiors, exteriors, or just a little refresh to smarten things up, I’ll be happy to help.

Happy Monday everyone! 👋

Kicked off my morning with a trip to Wickes for some timber to replace rotten exterior woodwork on my current job in North Shields. I only needed 2.6 metres but they only sell 2.5 metres, so I’d have needed two lengths anyway. But of course, they only sell them in packs of four! 😂 Sometimes the maths just isn’t on your side.

Once this exterior is finished up, I’ll be heading down to Durham tomorrow to paint 16 brand new doors, and later this week I’ll be in Gosforth, giving a kitchen a fresh new look for a lovely elderly lady. Her daughter got in touch and booked me in without even getting any other quotes, a huge compliment that really means a lot. 🙏

As we head towards Christmas 🎄, I just want to remind everyone: whether it’s a feature wall needing wallpaper, a quick repaint of a few walls, some basic plastering, or even a bit of remedial joinery, please get in touch, or tag someone you know who needs a hand. Big or small, if I can help, I will.

Here’s to a productive week ahead! 💪

🐾 I've got a bit of a dream ☕🐱

In memory of my cat Yoshi in the wake of his passing, I’m working on the idea of something special:
Great coffee that helps cats in need.

The idea is simple — a coffee brand where a percentage of all profits goes directly to cat charities or causes across the UK. Every cup would help towards providing food, shelter, and care for cats.

👉 If you love cats, coffee, or just building something good, I’d love for you to be part of this journey. Whether you’ve got skills in web design, business, marketing, branding, working with charities or simply passion and time to invest, there’s space for you in the Yoshi’s Brew community. I don’t necessarily have to do this alone (though I am willing to)

To get started, I’d love your thoughts:

1️⃣ What type of coffee do you usually buy?
(Instant / Ground / Beans / Other)

2️⃣ Which flavours or regions excite you most?
(Brazil, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Kenya, Decaf, Flavoured blends, etc.)

3️⃣ What price might you pay for a charitable coffee?
(Instant per jar / Beans or ground per 250g–1kg / Subscriptions)

4️⃣ How would you prefer to buy?
(One-off bags/discounted subscription with delivery)

5️⃣ Would merchandise interest you?
(Mugs, tote bags, coasters, spoons)

6️⃣ Do you prefer tea or drinking chocolate instead?

☕🐾 Your answers and support will help bring Yoshi’s Brew to life — together.

💬 Please drop your answers in the comments or DM me, and tag your friends too. I want to know if this is something I can make happen.

I'd love to create something that can help cats who need it whilst also providing a lovely cup of coffee.

It's been a hard week to get through this week, as I've had to say goodbye to one of my oldest and most loyal pals, Yoshi the cat. The boss of the house.

I got Yoshi when I was only 20 years old, a time when I even had a full head of hair 😱 . It was before I began dating my wife and before I started working self employed as a decorator. He has brought so much joy into the house over the years. He had the loudest purr and meow combination I've ever heard, and was never unhappy. Every vet visit would be a struggle to check his heartbeat due to his non stop purring and enjoying even the smallest amount of attention.

I wish he could have lived forever. Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. 🐾🐾🐾

Woke up to a cold, misty North Shields morning 🌫️❄️ Turned up to site, looked at yesterday’s gloss work on the fascias and soffits… and thought:

“Hang on… did I just undercoat these AGAIN?!” 🤦‍♂️

Heart stopped for a second. But nope — it was just condensation clinging on and making them look totally matt. Quick wipe down and the shine came back ✨

Lesson of the day: don’t panic before your first coffee ☕😂

🎥 A quick video from me today, paint on my head and all! 👨‍🎨 (I spotted it afterwards, but there was no way I was re-filming… I’ll just call it part of the decorator’s uniform 😅).

The main reason I’m putting these videos out is to ask you: do they actually help? Do they give you a better sense of who I am and the kind of work I do?

I know I’m not a natural on camera, I feel daft talking to my phone at times, but I want people to see the person behind the business, not just the finished jobs.

So please let me know in the comments:
👉 Do the videos help you understand me and my work better?
👉 Do you have any questions about decorating, big or small?

I’ll happily reply to anything, whether it’s about materials, techniques, colours, or even just how I keep ending up with paint on my head!

Thanks as always for supporting a small local business. It means the world.

✨ Little extras make a big difference ✨

I’m currently working on a job painting exterior fascias and soffits. There’s been a fair bit of scraping back, sanding, filling, undercoating, and soon I’ll be finishing with a gloss topcoat for a smart, long-lasting result.

While I’m here, the client asked if I could also clean down the outside of the guttering. It’s not something I advertise, but I’m always happy to do these small complementary jobs if I can. It improves the overall look of the finished work and takes very little extra effort while I’m already set up.

👉 So if I’m ever working on your home, don’t be afraid to ask:

Could this wall be filled and re-painted up?

Could this single wall be skimmed?

Could a small detail be freshened up to tie everything together?

Just because it’s not on my “usual” list doesn’t mean I can’t help. At the end of the day, all I want is happy customers and a great-looking, lasting finish on every project.
