But there is nothing clichéd about love and care work: care for a parent, a partner, a child. This is the stuff of being human and I’m interested in that. The World’s Wife: A 500-word fictional prose monologue in the voice of the wife, mistress, sister, daughter, mother of a famous real or fictional person. Please give your piece a title that explains the relationship, e.g. ‘Ophelia, fiancée of Hamlet’; ‘Melania, wife of Donald Trump’.

Come explore writing about our relationships with women – grandmothers, mothers, daughters, sisters and friends – in the Salon with Jennifer Lee Tsai on 17 November, 5-7pm via Zoom.
