We're thrilled to be hosting an ✨ Indie Extravaganza ✨ in the Salon this February!

On 23 February, Salon members will have the opportunity to pitch their work to the editors of 12 brilliant UK independent presses, including Prototype, The Emma Press, Linen Press, Hashtag Press, Galley Beggar Press, Bad Betty Press, Luna Press Publishing, Wild Hunt Books, Blue Moose Books, Scratch Books, Seren Books and Dahlia Books.

The editors will be logged on to the Salon on 24 February to read pitches, offer written feedback and snap up any writers who catch their eye.

Who knows, you might just be the next Eliza Clark! Her debut novel 'Boy Parts' was picked up by Influx Press at our first ever Indie Extravaganza...

Our 2025 Poetry Competition, judged by Liz Berry, CLOSES on Monday, 8 December at 11:59 pm! ⏰

Send us your unpublished poems of any length, on any subject. The £10 entry fee allows you to submit up to three poems.

Prizes: 1st: £2,000; 2nd: £500; 3rd: £250; Unpublished poet: £250. The four winners, plus sixteen additional finalists will have their poems published in the March 2026 issue of Mslexia.

There's still time to make those final edits, and work up the courage to submit!

There are just a few days left to enter your pamphlets into our 2025 Poetry Pamphlet Competition, judged by Imtiaz Dharker!

Deadline: 8 December at 11:59pm! ⏰

Poets who have yet to publish a full-length collection are invited to submit collections of 18-20 poems (up to 20-24 pages) to our 2025 Poetry Pamphlet Competition.

Prize: £500, plus publication by Bloodaxe Books A selected poem from the winning pamphlet will also be published in Mslexia.
