While we are at the start of a probably 🫢 long and arduous journey for followers on a presence is at least a good start 🙂.

While we have an established presence on X with many followers it would also be nice if Facebook visitors could help us grow too.

Why not make it simple on the bill, call a unit what it is “1 unit” at whatever price you are charging instead of hiding it behind an equation 🫢

🔋 Say watt?! kW vs kWh 🔋

What’s the difference?

💡 kW (Kilowatt): A measure of power. It tells you how much energy an appliance uses at a specific moment
⚡ kWh (Kilowatt-hour): A measure of energy. It tells you how much energy an appliance uses over time

How to work it out?

💡 Power (kW): Check the appliance label. For example, a 2 kW heater uses 2 kilowatts of power
⚡ Energy (kWh): Multiply power by time. If you run a 2 kW heater for 3 hours, it uses 2 kW * 3 hours = 6 kWh

Why it matters?

💷 Cost savings: Knowing kWh helps you understand your energy bill and find ways to save money
📈 Efficiency: Helps you choose energy-efficient appliances
🌍 Environmental impact: Reducing kWh usage lowers your carbon footprint

Home energy bills in the UK are set to fall 7% with cuts in unit prices and standing charge from July with the average household bill dropping by around £129 per year, thanks to lower wholesale gas prices.

Standard prices will still remain 60% higher than pre-covid levels though with consumers still being asked to consider cheaper fixed deals.
