We should continue to support local businesses like the YMCA . They put back into the community unlike a lot of the huge multi nationals . Try to become a member of the cafe and keep community businesses alive.

Whether you're popping in for a coffee or a full breakfast, every time you choose to buy something from our cafe, you're directly helping the vital work of YMCA North Tyneside, including our youth groups, community allotment, and community meals.

Sorry to see another Education establishment go let's hope the 6th form provision for North shields area is sorted soon

A planning application has been submitted to convert the former Queen Alexandra 6th Form College on Hawkey’s Lane into 34 apartments. The old part of the building dates back to 1909, when it originally opened as Tynemouth Municipal High School.

In 2008, it was given Grade II listed status, and it’s noted for having some interesting Art Nouveau features.

The proposed development would keep the existing room layout and window openings, so there’d be no significant changes to the building’s external appearance.

Health Care Assistants are performing a crucial role in the NHS and deserve to be rewarded properly for the work they do. The NHS are prepared to pay private firms £1.8 billion a year to yet aren't prepared to give healthcare assistants what they deserve

Staff will walk out in the coming weeks unless there's an improvement in the amount of back pay that the trust is prepared to give them

All it would take to end this is a phone call from Donald Trump. The Isaelis need to accept what is really happening in Gaza and the lies need to stop. The truth will eventually emerge but how many more Palestinians will have to die before this happens.

This is what hate does. It causes division and discord which makes us less able to fight the real issues such as inequality. The likes of Farage and Tommy Robinson are the cheerleaders here. We need to act collectively and engage people to create a better country for everyone.

I have a zero hours s contract I'm given regular shifts but my employer can change these shifts when they want and take away my hours of work on a daily basis. However it doesnt work the opposite way round . Ive told the employer im not available on a certain week and been told i can't have this time off as it messes up their rotas and that i need to accure more hours even though im not asking to be paid.
North Tyneside Council sub contract to care agencies who use zero hour contracts citing they are flexible but not for workers for employers !
We need to protect workers rights and this bill needs to be passed in full please sign and share Cath Davis

Beggers belief when the Tory government oversaw the selling of the Post Office during their administration. Now local Tories are trying to score political points by scaremongering over closures.
There wouldn't be a need for a consultation if the Royal Mail was still in public hands.
