The changing of the seasons is a magic time across the globe. As the northern hemisphere enters summer, the swells slow down and our North Atlantic sets about hibernation. But on the opposite side of the world, the southern hemisphere is waking up, ready to set off that half of the globe. Big swells can generate out of the Southern Pacific, track eastwards under Southern America, get fuelled up from the South Atlantic and fire into spots across the southern part of Africa (as evidenced here by )
If the swell and storm is big enough, they will fan out, like a pinion in the Indian Ocean, sending waves to Indonesia, Maldives, Australia and so much more.
Long live the winter months down south! They’re about to get started. Vid from
