A lot of rain across the country this morning and it will continue with some heavy downpours as it tracks northeastward eventually clearing the northeast coast this afternoon with sunny spells breaking through towards the end of the day. The winds will pick up just before lunchtime with some strong gusts along all coastal areas this afternoon and this evening. The winds will continue to be quite strong tomorrow with further heavy scattered showers.

An unsettled week ahead as the remnants of Ex-hurricane Erin approach from the North Atlantic. We can expect a blustery few days with some heavy showers at times.

A mostly dry start with just a few showers around. Later this morning further scattered showers will develop beginning in the midlands then they will move east with some heavy downpours along parts of the east coast and especially through the northeastern counties where the rain will be the heaviest with a risk of thunderstorms. We have quite bit of cloud cover today but there will be some sunny spells and it’s going to be warm with temperatures reaching 26C.
