Hurricane Melissa is not going to affect Ireland!! Contrary to what some media outlets are reporting 😡. It is currently on track to pass to our north west next week and by that stage it will no longer be a hurricane and at the most we will get some wind and rain.

🍂🍁High pressure brings softer days 🍁🍂

A much more settled spell of weather is upon us thanks to an area of high pressure that will hang around for possibly the next two weeks. No storms, no strong winds and no rain, apart from some very light showers in some northern counties tomorrow morning. Daytime temperatures will rise up to 15C and falling back into single figures overnight but not cold enough for frost. Great weather for Autumn walks. Please share.

Tomorrow night’s full Moon isn’t just any ordinary one — it’s a Super Harvest Moon! 🌾🌙

Because the Moon will be at its closest point to Earth, it’ll shine brighter and appear bigger than usual — up to 30% more luminous in the night sky.

What makes this Moon truly special is its Harvest Moon title — the full Moon closest to the autumn equinox, once used by farmers for late-night harvests. And here’s the rare twist: this time it’s happening in October, a rarity that’s only occurred 18 times in 80 years!

📅 The Moon reaches peak fullness at 03:48 GMT on October 7, but the best view will be just after sunset.

The stormy conditions continue this morning with a lot of heavy rain across the north which will move south eventually clearing to scattered showers by lunchtime. The winds are still very strong this morning and will continue throughout the day and into tonight with more disruption likely so be extra cautious on the roads. It’s going to be cooler today with a high of 14C but it will feel cold in the wind.
Here’s the latest rain radar and maximum wind gusts in mph at 0730.
