That's the line I hear most, almost word for word, from clients after their shoot.

Most people arrive nervous.

First time in front of a proper camera.

Don't know what to do with their hands.

Convinced they're going to look stiff, awkward, "not photogenic."

Here's what actually happens.

Within about 10 minutes, that nervousness turns into something else.

Usually laughter or pride

Once people get past the nerves, they actually relax into it.

And that's usually when the best images happen.

If you're nervous about a shoot, that's not a red flag.

That's just you stepping outside your comfort zone, which is exactly where the good stuff happens.

My job is to make sure that, whatever you're feeling walking in, you're walking out having actually enjoyed yourself.

That's the bar I hold myself to every time.

If a photoshoot's been on your mind but the nerves have been holding you back, that's normal.

You can’t talk about values and then act against them.

That’s one of the quickest ways to lose people.

Not just clients but your team as well.

Because people don’t buy into what you say.

They buy into what you do.

If there’s a gap between the two, it creates doubt.

And over time, that doubt becomes disengagement.
