I've gone a bit quiet on the rat front recently - but I'm still here! I can't believe it's September already. Life has been life-ing and we lost some big personalities in both the buck and doe groups, including my heart rat Pearl, who was a big part of choosing to breed for Russian Blue 🩶🐀

But life goes on, the rats need looking after and my plans to breed continue! My applications are still open to pet homes - pending successful pairings later this year I may have kittens available early 2027.

Buck kitten photoshoots are slightly less chaotic 😂

The DPP and Pearl's aren't part of my breeding plans, but came as company for solo RB buck Craig 🩶🐀

They'll join my main buck group after the NFRS Scottish Championships next week.

I'd forgotten how hard it is to take photos of doe kittens, they just don't stay still! 😂

Turns out a random ASDA tissue box makes the perfect colour co-ordinated prop too 🐀🩶

(I also need to get a better light box/camera, because I swear the Russian Blue's aren't that silvered in real life!)

The worst kept secret ever 🩶🐀

I recently brought home some kittens from Rocklee Rats - Stud, who will hopefully become future parents to Steeltown rats! They've been an absolute delight and it's been lovely having little people to look after again.

Names and proper photos at a later date!

*Please note my applications remain open but I will not have rats available for pet homing until at least early 2027*

After a long time, there's finally a reputable breeder in the North East of England again! 🎉

Me and the Dumplings have officially relocated to Newcastle upon Tyne, in the North East of England 🥟

I will regularly be back in Scotland to visit family and friends, and of course attend NFRS Rutherglen shows throughout the year!

Just to note, I am the only NFRS + NERS registered rattery in the North East at the moment - anyone else breeding/homing rats in the region is not affiliated with me or the fancy. There are unfortunately a few backyard breeders in this region 😞

This girl has my heart, she's the reason I fell in love with Russian Blue as a variety. Other than a pesky MT she's still a busy little lady and will be totally spoiled for the rest of her time with me.

Had a lovely day at my first North of England Rat Society Preston show yesterday, scribing for pets and seeing some friends get amazing wins, so proud!

It wasn't the best day for my own rats but Mona and Shawn still brought home some pretty ribbons for the wall, always proud of my wee team 🩶
